Coffee left over from yesterdays brunch, I think it is mostly crunchy by now but you can always pour some whiskey in it to soften it up.
Coffee sounds good. I had a field trip this morning to the babies school. I might start doing some pickups or dropoffs, so I located their classrooms, got introduced to the teachers, and confirmed I was on the 'approved' list. Kinda fun. The little are such a hoot in small groups!

Good morning to you Salty and David. That Garland comes up with some good tunes when he stops by and it is always good to see another Okie in the place.

I know Bobby just messin around I've been watching this YouTube channel lately, young fellow tattoos all over he restores old cars he's quite talented. I find it easier to watch guys do it than to take on a big project like that. He doesn't bring them back all shiny and new but leaves the rust like is in style now, I kinda like that. He's from Pott county Oklahoma, "Puddin's Fab Shop"

Salty that used to be just about the only bad habit I had, I gave it up when those old wrecks begin getting to high priced to buy, kinda like old boats that will never see water again.

I know what you're saying Bobby. I browse craigslist and marketplace sometimes, I'd kind of like to do a 50's pick up some day, nothing fancy keep it stock. They're out there but a total project not running most parts off and in dissaray, rust all over and the guy wants 8 grand for it. Yeah, I don't think so.

Back in the day those old cars and trucks were sitting around a lot of yards, $25 dollars would get you a complete car less battery and good tires. Over on the Stovebolt forum I saw an old 20 something truck, the only thing above the dirt and weeds was the top half of the cab. Around two thousand for that.

The other thing that's killed it is car crushers. Seems like around the 1990s around here metal salvagers started hitting up all these properties with fields of cars. Either someone had passed on or someone wanted some quick cash and they made a deal and everything got hauled away in big semi bins to the car crusher for scrap.

Yes that is true, the epa came along and made a bunch of those old salvages or junk yards clean that stuff out or else.

I can see both sides of it. Places that didn't care about oil or anything else leaking amongst their dozens of cars isn't too cool. Still a shame to loose a lot of history though.

I guess the cleaning up the land was the best thing but some of those old cars had lost all their fluids year ago. and crushing them was a sad thing for this old man to see.
If Paul was still out in Arridzona I am sure he could find you a good one and then you would have to rob a bank to buy it.

That's where to look all right. We've got a bit of semi desert country a couple three hours east of here. The Okanagan valley, if I get serious I'll look up there probably. They still come up once in a while but you gotta be ready to pounce. I saw a pretty nice early 50s International not long ago, original flat head 6 he'd redone the wiring recently to 12 volt and it ran pretty nice. Rockers and floors needed a bit of work but that wouldn't be a panic. I think it went for 7 grand, if I was ready I would probably spring for that for a decent runner that I could tinker on over time

My own danged brother forgot I wanted his old Studebaker pickup if he ever gave up on restoring it. I bugged him several times, and he always claimed he WOULD get to it. Then when his kids were pushing him to clean up the property... he sold it. One of many, MANY reasons I owe him a whupp'n <G>

Ouch. Yeah Studebaker pickups are dead cool. People used to kind of laugh at the idea but now they're top of the pile for collectors

I came across a blues guy out of Tulsa recently. Seth Lee Jones. He is more builder than player maybe and not completely my kind of player but he is solidly good and builds some nice guitars for some high end dudes. He had some influence as a builder from a lady named Dixie Michell. Look her up. Interesting lady with quite a history of guitar building. I discovered her just about a year before she died. She lived in Tulsa. Old school as they come yet had a lot of very innovative ideas on how to make a guitar better.

Bob Wills is classic! Thanks David! They payed the Cains Ballroom in Tulsa pretty regular back in their heyday. The Cains is still a great venue in Tulsa. Not a lot of dance floor these days since fans just crowd the whole place with standing room only.
My dad used to sing this for me when I was a young boy around 8 years old or so. The song was old even then! I am only thirty. Give or take thirty years or so. Ok. Give thirty years or so.

That's funny. One of my dad's faves also. And he used to sing it at me. Which was ironic, as I was anything but chubby. But I certainly DID like to eat. Song's more apt now. I ain't saying I'm as chubby as Tulsy. I just ain't saying <G>

    Yikes! Morning Again!!!

Babies are at school. Son1 is off to his new PT job. Roofers are here to finally finish off the last section of roof. I'm hoping it'll mostly be a peaceful day, as I've got some planning to do.

I have days I am so sick and hurt so bad, I pray for death but it flees from me. I try really hard to not get there but it still comes. The beer and Tequila don't help anything but I feel like I am giving this cancer the bird.
I hope Kevin is doing better than I am. Oh I forgot cancer sucks.
