Plessner was correct, incidentally. The talk with the cat was pointless. It was late afternoon by the time I saw him, I started to say my piece, he stuck his face in his food dish and blatantly ignored me.

My talk with the cat queen went much better. After I outlined the event, she said, "His azz is outside at night". She tamped her jeweled staff on the floor three times and it was made so.

When i went outside this morning, he met me at the door, shot me a dirty glance and rushed past me straight to his food dish.

Thanks, Bobby. I need to get in touch with Carter.

Whale watching was great yesterday. All we saw were sea lions and otters for the first 45 min or so. The fog bank we were in lifted, the sun came back out and we ran into a patch of a dozen or more humpbacks. They did a bunch of breaches, head slapping, dorsal dancing and tail wagging. It was playtime out there. The narrator said it was more activity than they normally saw. In a word, it was magnificent to see.

Some time when you got not a lot to do, Listen to an evening with Mark Knopfler. Such a good story teller and musical artist. I think he can stand with the best.

I started drinkin Tequila about 1968, changed locations for a couple of years and other things were more available. then about 1973 I moved to Sharyland Texas, went to work for MJ sign company in McAllen and made some good Texmex friends. Friday nights was across the border to a little Cantina, dirt floor and all. I learned a lot that year. I bought Tequila in a half gallon plastic jug, we would go across the street from the motel and pick a couple of grapefruits and a bunch of us would sit around the pool and get wasted. The next morning at work was always hell. I have prolly puked up more tequila than most folks here have ever drank

bobby i can drink this mezcal all day, thanks for insisting that i try it

its good stuff, even though it’s clear it taste somehow smokey, smells like tequila but doesn’t really taste like it, it’s more peppery and sweeter and flowery all at the same time

fact is i like tequila and i guess i now like mezcal and really as long as we’re up off the bottom shelf and its real agave and not corn based i can probably drink it
