Well now. Dunno whether to cheer or cry. Surprised though.

    I'm not surprised.

Not that I was expecting this, but Trump is a moron who can not abide any other moron with a strong opinion.

Let’s see. Most of the cabinet positions have been eliminated, the ones still remaining are staffed with incompetent Trump toadies, he ignores all advice from advisors, and now the GOP wants to eliminate primary challenges. If anyone can’t smell a dictator at this point, you have already cut off your nose to spite your face.

I won’t miss Bolton, but Trump’s “You’re fired” mantra has gone way too far. He obviously wants to be the ONLY one in charge.

I informed John Bolton last night that his services are no longer needed at the White House. I disagreed strongly with many of his suggestions, as did others in the Administration, and therefore....

No one knows more about Afghanistan than Donald Trump.

Trump could actually make things happen that many American want, like pulling out of loser strategies of occupation but he’s trying to do it while disregarding the political mechanisms to make it happen. The US gov’t isn’t Trump Inc. “I hereby order...” may work someday in the US like it works in totalitarian states but we’re not there.

What did Matttis and Tillerson say? “what you are trying is against the law” boom they’re gone. Barr is still there though.

I like Bolton sorry to see him go.

It will be interesting to see who President Trump gets to replace him.

Did you like it when Bolton used his position in the State Dept to channel disinformation to Cheney and the Congress about the alleged threat of chemical weapons programs in Iraq and Cuba?

Can’t wait to see who he hires and fires next. Maybe Ivanka could fit in. She knows how to tell DT what he wants to hear.

What exactly do you like about him? Most people find his dishonesty in order to create chaos and money for the MIC pretty disgusting.

Trump lies, naturally, about the sequence of events.

Bolton claims he offered his resignation last night, Trump said "let's talk about it tomorrow", and this morning Trump goes straight to twitter to claim he "fired" Bolton.

    Gosh, who to believe. lol.

My, my; a decision I agree with. Bolton's very dangerous, and I am very pleased indeed that Trump didn't take his advice.

Trump won’t make it to the election. He’s going to quit when his finances come out. It’s going to get worse.

John Bolton should never have joined an administration in which the president was overtly corrupt, sympathetic to dictators, weirdly beholden to Russian President Vladimir Putin and a pathological liar. Like so many others, Bolton will go down as someone driven by unquenchable thirst for relevance and power with the hubris to think he could bend President Trump to his will. Instead, Bolton became an enabler for a president who allowed himself to be snowed by North Korea’s Kim Jong Un and revealed he never had a game plan for Iran (and would not use force or the credible threat of force).
    .
    .
Veteran diplomat Aaron David Miller notes, “You can only play Dr. No so many times. Bolton was out of sync with Trump on Iran, North Korea, Afghanistan and Venezuela." He added, “[Secretary of State Mike] Pompeo played the game of Trump whisperer better than Bolton.” Precisely because Bolton differed with Trump on all these topics, sycophantic Sens. Tom Cotton, Ted Cruz and other uber-hawks who thought they, too, could bend Trump toward their view should wise up. Trump is not a valiant defender of the West and protector of our allies. He’s a dangerous and corrupt patsy in the hands of strongmen.
    .
    .
If Bolton wants to save his reputation, he can render one final service: Collect up all the former national security officials and tell the American people just how unfit is this president. It’s time for the sycophancy and careerism to end and the patriotism to start.
