Are those little(?) Sabb singles still made/imported to the USofA? Where/who?

You'll find their website and email contact addresses at http://www.sabb.no/index1.htm.. Sadly, time may be running out for these small engines now due to the new emission standards

Sadly, I get a "File Not Found" error message when I hit that link. Does it work for anyone else?

    Kermit, try http://www.sabb.no/
Give it time to load and then it will advance to the index. There you can opt for the english version.

My thanks for the help. Now we've seen and heard the little fellow. I've connected with the factory, and they are sending all info by post.

Erica has a little 20 horse Sabb in her, so I'm familiar with the process of getting parts, etc. The US distributor is Bill Miller, who runs a small operation with his wife out of Leesburg, FL. You can reach him at:

    352-589-2882 office
    888-301-1706 office toll free
    119 Lake Shore Circle
    Leesburg FL 34788

My understanding, based on conversations with Bill, is that he relies primarily on servicing Sabb engines used in the lifeboats on cruise ships and Navy vessels. The little ones are not readily available anymore - only bigger (60-100 hp maybe?) ones that start around 10K or so. He's been A1 on parts though - even the obscure stuff, and has a database with owners/serial numbers etc so when I call him it's pretty easy to get the right part.

You can also get the engines direct from Norway via the factory I'm told, which might provide better selection on sizes. I've seen the occasional used one go by on the web - usually from commercial fishing boats here in California, but also from lifeboats being decommissioned along with freighters, etc.

    Hope this helps!
