What is the difference between Pettit underwater (7510)seam cement and (7610)seam compound? I am just about to caulk and putty the bottom of a new vessel with 1.75" planking. Is the seam cement only for older vessels with bigger seams?

Okay, I got through to Pettit.
#1 seam compound is only available in pints! Seems to me this stuff used to be available in gallons...I want gallons. Is any underwater seam compound available in gallons?
#2 the seam cement is still an oil based product...it just dries a harder to be more like window glazing. It's available in quarts. Who uses it?

The regular seam compound is not reliable below the water line.
The underwater compound does not give as nice a paint surface if used above the water line.

Don't have the cans in front of me, but if #1 is brown and sort of "rough textured" and number two is white and "creamy textured", than Ian's spot on...
