    I would like to build a 24 inch ships wheel for a boat i am going to build next year but I cant find a brass hub to build it. any one know were I can get one new or used.

    Edson has the hubs. A friend built one and it's a very interesting project. Let me know if you run into problems but the real breakthrough tool was a very strong steel post and adjustable radius bar that the router could revolve around without any wobble.

    If you can, look at John Guzzwell's book Modern Wooden Boat Construction. It shows a pretty straightforward way to build a ships wheel.

    Woodenboat 107 and 108 present a two-part series on the construction of a wooden ship's wheel. I also remember the author discussing the particulars of having a hub cast if you can't find one the size you're after.
