    LOL.
I note that Hastie and Pattinson have been refused a visa to visit China.

I laugh but it's an indication of how Aus. is regarded by an expansionist China.

I see China is buying our baby formula production. And we are OK with that provided they employ some people here for a while. Breast feeding is better for babies anyway I guess.

Barney called a group of ex senior firefighters and fire captains 'a front for the Greens'.

Bush briugades are not getting new volunteers because there are few to volunteer, there being little or no work because of the drought and changing farmung practices.

are they among the group that have been trying to get a meeting with Morrison and the Govt for the best part of a year in order to discuss the changes in severity of fire seasons and the connection to climate change. I think it is and i think their existence and the Govt's lack of response will come back to bite the Govt hard. If it doesn't then Labour are a bunch of gutless wet paper bags in opposition and they don't deserve to govern. At this stage, who is holding the Govt to account? The greens are on their own and exposed to Govt ridicule and Labour are missing in non action. To me it seems Labour suck big time and have sunk so far back in their shell it's an indictment, and they don't need to run scaredy cat from all their previous policy. They should adopt a strong policy on the environment as the time is coming when a tipping point among the voting public will be reached.

And I have emailed and written an old fashioned letter on that in particular to the ALP, but don't hold your breath.
But frankly whatever wreck of a climate policy boat there was left last election it's well and truly sailed. I like to think Labour woud have done better………. but I'm likely chasing rainbows.
Now, like the rest of the world, it's time to work out coping strategies. But that requires admitting there's a problem…………….

Hard to know what is going on at the moment, fire is 5 to 6 km away now and has apparently jumped the latest containment line. At least 2 possibly 6 homes gone at Commissioners Creek. Came home from Marine Rescue to some disturbing information that Chowan Creek had been evacuated which is very close but turned out to be a furphy. We actually evacuated to Uki for the afternoon to try and find out just what was happening. Came away just as confused. The fire is not crowning but there's intense moments. Reports from a friend fighting it at Doon Doon. We're ready to go at the drop of a hat. Daughter in law and I cleared masses of forest litter behind the house but there's just too much. At least if I do lose the place I know I tried.

Where are these fire maps of which you speak? My idiot son is about to head off on a road trip across to Broken Hill I suppose, then up a bit then hit the coast, not sure where, north of Brisbane I think. Best if he can avoid the worst of the fires. Last time he did this he ended up having to outrun a fire in the Grampians.

I see the prime minister has 'attacked' Folau for his religious beliefs on bush fires.
There should be a law against that......

We we have polluted and deffiled the earth…………. and given ourselves climate change………..Issy is just pushing the wrong barrow……………. Ridicule is what he deserves, as longit can work both ways of course…………….. Ridicule from Issy would be hillarious in itself.

The cause and effect thing. My phone has an annoying habit of not showing the last few posts, so conversations here are a bit like conversations in real life, where I sometimes respond to something someone said 5 minutes ago.

It seems that this is not the only 'secret trial' the Australian governments have perpetrated. Existence and results of such events not released to public knowledge, prisoners incarcerated under false names, denial of appeals. And obviously not jury trials, but by judges that were also constrained.

Very disturbing and makes me wonder what his could be for such draconian action.

Given present examples, ass protection for political operatives is likely. But also likely some intelligence ops. Don't gorget ASIO, and the government, have the power to 'disappear' a person.
