    In the same era that Ms. B. Hynde came to national/international prominence, "girl bands" started coming out with some awfully nice hard rock. One of Canada's contributions was a band from Toronto named - somewhat disingenuously - Toronto, featuring lead singer Holly Woods. This is one of the tunes that brought them to MTV:
