You know Australian story, 4 corners, and our own '1 a week' murder' by a man of his partner just makes me mad, and frankly if it was one of mine killed or abused I wouldn't want 'justice' I'd want revenge.

Too late, I hope to live long enough to see them condemned. When the s==t hits the fan it will cost the world far far more. But they don't care, they'll mostly be dead.

4 Corners, sympathy for those Catholics so utterly betrayed. Were I Pope there would be a silent black ops team visiting certain priests.

I suspect that the Pope of the time was likely well aware. As was the curia of course.
Followers die and are easily replaced by the birthrate. It is essential that The Business survives and the power is retained.

Speaking of brand damage, the Greens lose another one, to Canada. But it's a bit ridiculous, both parents Australian citizens and she came here at only a few months.

And the there's Dutton and the Super Ministry. Some pundits here think that Mal has just given him too much to do, and the potential for big mistakes to bother about going for his job……….
After the Border Force giggle I thought I'd suggest a few Super Hero logo's for their shirts….

How about the double D, "Duttons Demons" or "Dutton's Dills",

Actually Super Dutton is bad for the so called "liberal" brand too.

I note Dutton has been careful not to be seen in the uber black Border Force uniform.

For the first time this morning I am hearing commentary saying that the changes are more about appeasing the RW than security, and that Dutton is not a person that should be trusted with that massive increase in ministerial power.

My first thought when this was first proposed. A very dangerous move I think, and I am yet to see any safeguards.
Power once assumed is NEVER renounced.

Dutton wants power, the more the better, a black uniform would be nice too. I don't trust him even a bit.

Interesting conversation on this subject on RN this morning.

And on the news last night another issue with DVA and suicidal veterans, and from that session it seems that DVA has not improved it's attitudes at all.

And yes, this Home office thing is all about politics.

Thanks for that, I read it again.
I think that with Aus's bid for the HRC glass houses around the country will be at risk.

I see the PNG election is it's usual mess of corruption and violence, but the wonder is that elections occur there at all.

PNG has a strong chance of becoming a "failed state" in the long run, tribal allegiance is the primary motivator for the masses. It seems national identity trails badly.
Then comes corruption for wealth combined with onetokism .

A failed state with an Indonesia next door that will always need a distraction from internal ructions. That is not a good prospect.

Looks like NSW cotton growers are stealing water from the Murray Darling system, with NSW government collusion. The government changed the pumping rules under pressure from cotton growers.

    Not new, this from 2008.
