Mark Latham Has Submitted His One Nation Membership Form As Well As His Preliminary Resignation Letter, As Per Standard One Nation Policy

By The Shovel on November 6, 2018

Saying it would save time on paperwork later on, former Labor leader Mark Latham has attached a preliminary resignation letter to his One Nation registration form, in preparation for his inevitable departure in a few week’s time.
One Nation loses a member of parliament on average once every six months, while Mark Latham changes political alliances on average once every six minutes.
In an upbeat welcome speech, Mr Latham said he was thrilled to be joining One Nation. In a sneak peak of his resignation speech, he said the party had lost its way and he could no longer work with party leader Pauline Hanson.

......With this one I think the Shovel is on the money! He's playing Pauline and One Nation. He's real agenda is to move to being an independent but in his weird maveric dipstick persona thinks he'll use the the "look at me look at me" attention seeking platform of snuggling up to Pauline and one nation. Maybe wishful thinking that there will be any substance to his political performance if he gets there though.

Anyone bother to post politics in this thread?

Andrews, in Victoria, apparently has a guy connected to the Chinese Communist Party on his staff.

Foley, in NSW, apparently stuck his hands down a reporters' pants.

    Hopefully, both will go quickly....

The Lib, Elliot, who used parliamentary privilege to out the allegations, and the newspaper that did the same against the wishes of both women are arguably worse than the perpetrators of the original, alleged, offences.

Using their power for commercial and political advantage puts them beyond the pale in my opinion. One expects grubbyness from the Tele of course but it's no excuse, and the particular lib concerned hasn't a good record in regard to women.
I suppose the circumstance of both women not wanting to jeopardise their careers by reporting the abuse tells us that society has a long way to go, but the activities of Elliot and the Tele means that both women have likely lost a very big part of their opportunities.

Several people from the Tele. and their lawyers and Elliot need to be horsewhipped.

Well the latter certainly has. Foley's a bit of a damp rag so no loss anyway.

Malcolm on a Q&A special tonight. Sounds like he might make a good PM.

Damning the present lot with faint praise and naming all the conspirators as a by line to an answer.

Funny how they suddenly develop strong opinions when they are not in a position to do anything about it.

I'd imagine our platypi are reasonably undrugged, the upstream human population is small and not particularly depressed.

Nasty incident in Melbourne, 'man of African appearance' set fire to a car and stabbed 3 people in the street killing one before being shot by police. Perp and victims in a critical condition in hospital.
There's plenty of vision due to smart phones, from all angles.

We are in caretaker mode before an election and the ethnic group represented has been getting some attention from the Lib opposition.
This could actually swing it I reckon.

Suicide by cop judging by his actions in the street. The man killed may have been a security guard attempting to 'rescue' the offender from his burning ute. (I might add that's my reading from several sound grabs on radio).

Ed: Terrorism according to police via contact with his relatives. Ute contained gas bottles. He may have died.

The man killed was a much loved local restauranteur.

And I note that the Federal government has cut funding in half for Foodbank, the 3rd cut in it's term.

I really like people that find the language to capture whats going on.
One the greatest challenges is to clearly articulate why you think these laws are crap - those guys seem to be able to do it so well.

But - think their message is so good that the bad language just detracts form it. Maybe their target audience gets something from it.

I think it would be more powerful without it.

These are heavily influenced by stand up comedy, and that genre, live of course, is heavily laced with such expletives. Younger people are used to it from about grade 4 onwards.
