Default Greta Thunberg hitches a ride with La Vagabond

Greta needed a lift to the COP UN 25 Climate summit that was moved from Chile to Madrid so Riley offered the lift. Nicki Henderson is part of the crew to up the skill level a bit and they would need extra crew for this journey. First time they have sailed out of the trade winds except for Riley's solo trip to NZ.

I've watched some of that Vagabond thing early on.
There's something about it that makes me queasy.
It's all fun and games until Darth Vader comes.

Protest as entertainment. Count me with the less than impressed. As to ranting...,anyone can name problems. We all know the problems. Solutions would be more productive and useful, and there are people working on those, but it doesn't make for a spectacle, and won't be on the TV.

In some ways La Vagabond is a contemporary example of what Alby Mangles did in the 70's.

Do you think she knows why merchant ships have a Plimsoll line with WNA as the lowest mark, indicating the least permitted cargo?

Lotta hate going on. La Vagabond I don't watch. But good for them. And Greta, you want her to come up with solutions? And you seriously think it's easy to focus the world on climate change? Your president says it's a hoax. Our PM says it's not a good time to talk about it. You Go Greta!

Likely not, but most people don't know that Plimsoll was a coal merchant and inventor either.

    That's awesome.

The Vagabond series was great when they were learning and having fun, but something about her always pointing the camera at herself while she talked about the scenery behind her started to grate on me. That and the ridiculous hats. Once they got the big cat, I was out.

Good for them getting Greta on board though. I think a bunch of old men (always seems to be old men) who don't like to be lectured by Greta absolutely deserve to be lectured by Greta. The more you dislike her, the more she is talking to you.

I have no idea how an intelligent young girl instills such a sense of horror in some older folks because she wants what is good for all of us. None.

may i suggest that for some, her truth shakes their foundations to the core, and that this truth is a direct threat to core assumptions they form views and opinions around.
Rather than question these assumptions, the default response is to attack in varying degrees of cynical hostility. Deep down there is possibly an acknowledgement that she is on to something valid, and this scares them ****less......
