and next up, she's after a legal obligation for the parliament and the executive to consider and, if I'm not mistaken, to act on The Voice. She's putting THE VOICE above Parliament. These nongs are just beyond belief

Now for your benefit heres what may be some helpful advice..... well it is in reality, a reply in kind to the correction you offered me. A snide dig if I may say so myself, disguised as helpful advise. I admit it! I'm having a go because I think you are a..... I'd better not say or I might get banned

You do know that there are several types of intelligence and being proficient in one area of intelligence does not guarantee same in other areas. It comes across as rather obvious that there seems to be a deficiency in the areas of interpersonal and intrapersonal intelligence as you engage with others here in this forum.

.... and you can drop the mate thing. You comes across like someone in the pub when they have had a few too many beers, and are shaping up for a punch on...... the aggression is bubbling to the surface as alcohol peels back the veneer of respectable behaviour...... all in the safety of the internet but I suspect, never acting in a like manner in the real world pub situation as, sooner or later the consequences would be seen and heard and felt in a manner that would leave you in no doubt as to the foolishness of your persistent display of brinkmanship!

Now thats a handy word for this situation that your contributions here seem to inevitably lead to...... brinkmanship!

Brinkmanship (or brinksmanship) is the practice of trying to achieve an advantageous outcome by pushing dangerous events to the brink of active conflict. The maneuver of pushing a situation with the opponent to the brink succeeds by forcing the opponent to back down and make concessions rather than risk engaging in a conflict that would no longer be beneficial to either side. That might be achieved through diplomatic maneuvers, by creating the impression that one is willing to use extreme methods rather than concede.

Hey mate.... do you think you can bring yourself to apologizing for your unwarranted and incorrect personal attack on the tip thread? Or, is it just a case that yours doesn't stink.... just everyone else's?

So, Marcia, "when they get a say"?

Aboriginal Australians are over-represented in the Parliament of Australia.

    It's a fact. 11 of 226 Members and Senators. 5%.

    You have a say.

You say you value truth? So, that's the truth. You have a say. Just like all other Australians.

Speaking of the truth. Many would have us believe that the Australian aboriginal culture is the oldest continuous culture in the world. We now know that Denisovan DNA is a significant pointer to the origins of the Australian aborigines AND that it came down from the north... and is also present in New Guinea - which has a continuous culture.

So, riddle me this, wouldn't the indigenous culture in New Guinea be older than the Australian aboriginal culture?

I thought the LibNats did a fair job myself, but then after a while some rot sets in, there were floods, and more floods. Sometimes 'fair' is not enough, but I thought it would be much closer than present figures would indicate.
Lots of stuff for a new government to deal with, if they can, not an easy time coming for any government.

Yes, I did note that, money talks. But the voters knew that, I think that was possibly the most important policy the Libs had but whether it would ever have been enacted is moot. You will agree though that you cannot make stupid illegal…………?

    Well worth a read:

    https://www.thesaturdaypaper.com.au/...eral-party#mtr

    a few snippets:

.......News Corp has captured the Liberal Party. It is shifting the party away from being a political organisation and remaking it in the image of its ideological and corporate interests. Put differently, News Corp has done to the Liberals what it has done to journalism.....

    ....
In my view, the nature of the relationship between News Corp and the Liberals has made the Liberals incapable, to a larger extent than other political parties, of acting like a normal political organisation. That is because the Liberals have undue dependence on News Corp........

    https://www.abc.net.au/news/2023-03-...loss/102145576

Premier-elect Chris Minns swept to power last night with a slender majority in the lower house, with big swings in crucial seats bringing the curtain down on 12 years of Coalition government. It was an election winner, but how Labor actually pays for its popular policy is another question.
Voters went to the polls on Saturday not knowing how much Labor's plan to negotiate wages with each sector individually would cost.
But in some ways it doesn't matter — voters wanted someone who would be willing to negotiate.
The Parliamentary Budget Office found a 1 per cent wage rise on the current cap would cost $2.6 billion over three years.
Roughly 65 per cent of the state's 400,000 public-sector workers are women, and one-third of them are under the age of 35.
I shall watch what happens with interest.

Their base premise is wrong. A week ago, I did a 13-hour road trip with a senior politician... and there was much discussion of the political process. Things like how research among the party's base supporters feeds through to policy. News Corp doesn't go anywhere near that process.

I also have a reasonable understanding of how News Corp works... from those I know who have worked for Uncle Rupe, some of whom who met him on a daily basis, through to having had my editor from when I ran a publishing company having gone to work for his flagship paper. Oh yeah, almost forgot, I ride with a former editor of a significant competitor of his too... and there's been plenty of discussion (by informed individuals, unlike you).

So there... I can and I did. Another falsely attributed slur by you bites the dust. Perhaps better to think of you as Sandtongue?

One thing that struck me as undoubtedly obvious and that any honest, impartial observer would have to acknowledge is the stark difference in how the Murdoch press covered the Labour party's Pink Bats mismanagement issues and how they and more recently the Age and ABC covered the Liberal party's Robo Debt mismanagement issues. The Judge presiding over the Robo Debt inquiry even made specific and pointed comments about the lack of media coverage of details of the Robo Debt program and the publics right to be informed.

That'd be because the majority of the population don't much care about people who don't fulfil reporting requirements for their handouts.

I most certainly have - both from the department's side and from a politician who was there's side - and I can guarantee you, I'm better informed on it than you. It was in large part a program cock up in the department - a good idea, badly implemented. It affected people who needed to speak to the paymaster if they wanted to get things sorted... because their data didn't match.
