Suppliers of Marine Grade plywood listed in WoodenBoat Magazine:
    Boulter Plywood (Somerville, MA)
Edensaw (Port Townsend & Seattle, WA)
    Flounderbay (Anacortes, WA)
    Goosebay Lumber (Chichester, NH)
    Homestead Hardwoods (Vickery, OH )
Noah’s Marine (Niagra Falls, NY &Ontario, Canada )
    Yukon Lumber (Norfolk, VA)

Other places to get Marine Grade Plywood

I wanted to start a thread where other forumites can list lumber yards that they know carry Marine Grade Plywood.

In Houston (SE Texas) you can get marine grade ply from Houston Hardwoods

    they carry:

We keep Okoume, Hydrotek, and Aquatek marine grade plywood in stock. Okoume is made to BS1088 standards and is available in 3mm, 4mm, 6mm, 9mm, 12mm and 18mm thicknesses. Hydrotek is also made to BS1088 standards and is available in 6mm, 9mm, 12mm, and 18mm thicknesses. Aquatek is made to BS6566 standards and is available in 6mm, 12mm and 18mm.

M.L. Condon & Sons, either White Plains or Mamoroneck, N.Y.

    I was there in 1965 or '66.

It was impressive then. Lots of Bruynzeel mahogany marine plywood, along with many other fine boatbuilding woods. Bruynzeel has its own website at:

Come on people! It only takes a minute to list your supplier and you may be helping someone else out.

M.L. Condon (Bruynzeel) and Harbor Sales (Shelmarine) or one of Harbor Sales' affiliates (Maine Coast Lumber & Flounder Bay Lumber) just about covers the really good stuff. In my biased opinion.

As for Bruynzeel, according to the company, they don't ship their best grade of plywood, Bruynzeel Suprahecht, to North America.

Boulter, Edensaw & Noah's cover the rest.

I do see an add for a place in Dallas advertizing BS 1088 marine plywood. Has anyone dealt with these folks?

Houston Hardwoods didn't return my calls when I inquired about sapele marine plywood.

In South Louisiana Riverside Lumber in New Orleans and Robichaux in Raceland stock Douglas-fir marine plywood. Riverside Lumber told me if I wanted the good stuff (Shelmarine sapele) that I should deal with Harbor Sales directly.

I spent a long time searching for marine plywood. Harbor Sales has the best selection and best quality readily available in North America. Again, in my very biased opinion.

Homestead Hardwoods in Vickery,Ohio is in my back yard(very short drive). Everyone I know deals with them and I can't find anyone to say anything bad about them. They have a full service shop too. A wonderful place for a wood freak like me.

They post prices on their website unlike most other sites I've seen and even answer e-mailed questions.

I'm sure there are places in Cleveland,Ohio that carry marine grade too. I'll see what I can find. This thread is a great idea Jim.

I had an unpleasant experience at Maine Coast Lumber in Portland so I go to Atlantic Hardwoods on Congress Street 207-773-wood(9663). He stocks some marine ply and can get lots of other stuff in a day or two. I saw some of that French stuff, Joubert, maybe?, yesterday. Very nice.
