    I am always impressed by cars that have no paint as it takes a lot of talent to achieve a really good metal surface.Conversely,I have seen too many TV programmes about customising/restoration in which the whole car is slathered with filler and sanded into shape.

    VERY NICE! I helped a gent one summer who had bought one in Victoria, Canada and was driving it to San Francisco...a similar distance to yours as the crow flies, but he took the coastal highway all the way down. Broke something in Seaside and called our shop so I ran a replacement out to him. Can't recall what, but plan on taking some of the harder to acquire spares. Enjoy!

    Pretty sweet!
    Maybe this engine?

    "1933-1937, Matchless ‘MX’, 990cc, WC, SV, 500 ‘V’ Twin(Matchless Motorcycles, Colliers Ltd, Plumstead Rd, London)
    The Matchless range was introduced to Morgans at the same time as the 3 speed and reverse ‘D’ type gearbox in 1933 and continued to the end of the twin era. All 3 Matchless engines were designed by Mr Heather and all shared the same 990cc, bore 85.5mm x 85.5mm stroke, used a very compact single 3 lobe camshaft design with lever type followers to operate the valves and the dry sump lubrication system. The WC, SV engine was exclusive to Morgans because the AC motorcycle version had a tendency to overheat which could not be cured. It developed 27.5 bhp at 4000 rpm"

    The air cooled version;

    Interesting link. That is the car I bought from Steve Myers. He has 5 Morgans!! It is in Ames, Iowa. The engine is the MX. I have read that you can put the air cooled MX2 OHV cylinders on this crankcase with only a slight modification. Would really look better.

    It would be a bit lighter but water cooled seems to give some performance advantages ??

    Those 3 wheelers look addicting... like old sports cars and hot rods I have to be very careful around things like that! Keeping my pragmatic right there in a shoulder holster.

    (I had an opportunity to study a couple of them close up at a local rally and they are the epitome of simplicity and economy)

    That's not helping!

    It would be nice to find more unrestored vehicles, or some that were just maintained to a good standard of maintenance.
    The patina of age is something you can't really purchase...

    I couldn't get the Bonhams link to open but that car sold for 88K US dollars!! I heard at the Mog Convention that the purchaser is going to restore it.

    It's a bi like the vintage motorcycle scene, every bike gets restored to "perfection", I wish they'd just leave some of them alone .

    Dude. I must have one. If not a homebuilt, which I would love to do, I need a real one. This place has gotten me thoroughly hooked on the vehicles.

    The entire concept is very appealing, to me, and I have found some awesome roads lately on the scooter that would be perfect for a three wheeler...

    Peace,
    Robert
