There's a man in Glen Iris, Melbourne who drives one of those quite often round the suburbs. I used to see him picking up the papers and milk etc in the mornings. Not quite as luxuriously finished as this one, 'Racing Trim' he said as he used to do hill climbs in it. He had a stable of cars out the back under restoration.
I knew a few such characters as a boy, blokes that rumbled off on weekend jaunts in their Sunbeams or Bugattis and I often went along . i guess that's why I love these machines. Simplicity and elegance, not great speed by modern standards but lots of fun!

They're fantastic looking things. They look like they've been treated with rustkill... genolite or something , and left.
Personally I'd draw the line at no front brakes though.![]()
Even Model A's are bit marginal these days but I still have a hankering for one of those. again. Something like a period flathead V8 transplant would do ,without going to a full rod status.. maybe 16 in v8 spokes...
Railton Special? No not the special but……….. look down and see the car, in the air on the Brooklands track.

Thanks, skuthorp.
Napier Lion..........that second exhaust exiting almost underneath the car does draw the eye.
We don't know how lucky we are....
Yes Stilleto.
I think the wood bodied Hispano Suiza also had an engine based on a WW1 aero engine.
Did we do Jaguars yet?
