This one is a bit different, the same seating pattern was used in the much more recent Messerschmidt.

This is actually a modern car made from a lot of bicycle parts. The spindles, for example, a bent crank arms, and the kingpins are bottom brackets.
    It is a FANTASTIC car!

I found this page about a cyclekart Quadrilette. It’s nearly the same size as the original, and I think it’s faster!

I might have one with a twin disc clutch (lever operated), have to look in the bone pile. In any event that big wisconsin single uses a SAE pattern bellhousing.

Oh, man! I think a pirate cyclecar is going to be born. There’s plenty of backroad and sideroad around here...

The cycleKART is on, for sure. I’d like to have three, so everyone could play. And the larger car type, too, of course.

    Peace,
    Robert

P.S. Cool wheel, I know. Stolen!

One thing the last few have in common is a bit of a shortage of brakes. This Sunbeam had a bit of stopping power but we have come a long, long way since then.

A 1927 Sunbeam, a model (not this one) I have fond memories of. An old gentleman I knew as a boy would invite a couple of we lads to passenger with him for a few hundred kilometers. Fun and likely the basis of my vintage car interests.

Great looking car. The Motus motorcycle engine developed and built in Birmingham, Alabama. They took a Chevy V8, cut it in half and built an alum. version of it.

    OK, a bit of exaggeration:

"Katech boss Fritz Kayl used three engines as his inspirations for this project: the LS-series GM V8, the Honda touring bike 1300 V4, and the Ducati Desmosedici, another V4 motorcycle, though considerably rarer and dearer than the Honda (the Desmosedici retailed for more than $70,000). With the initial program goals set at 140 hp and a 140-pound engine weight, Kayl settled on a bore of 86.5 mm (3.4055 inches) and a stroke of 70 mm (2.7559 inches) for a displacement of 1,645 cc, or just over 100 ci. So dimensionally, the engine is closer to a three-quarter-scale version of the LS. Except for the cam sprocket, this engine shares no components or specifications with the Chevy V8—it’s totally new stuff. But if you look at the valvetrain and the port layouts, you can’t help but notice a certain resemblance."

My all time favorite bike engine has to be the MotoGuzzi 500cc V8 from the '50's.

Nope. It's a clean sheet design with input from Pratt & Miller. Here's an good video on the development of the engine and the Motus bikes.
