Still looks good today. If only that rotary engine had had a bit more development before going on sale...
I remember Lincolnshire Police had one as a patrol car for a while.

ETA: just seen a very tidy one on eBay UK for five and a bit grand, which is very tempting; it does have the Ford V4 engine conversion though.

Did they steal a designer from Peugeot? Looks like a cross between a 504 & 505.

Only if you lowered the nose, rounded the corners off, revised the winsdcreen profile, increased the aerodynamic shape, etc.

This one doesn't like like a Peugeot- anyone guess? A rare British car-mouse over the pic to find out.

Ouch! What next- a three-wheel type 35 Bugatti?

Staying with Z, pretty sure we have not had a Zust.

I can't think of any marque to follow Zust in the alphabet,so am going round to A again. This is the only Alpine cabriolet I have ever seen.

If it is in Le Manoir de l'Automobile, I must have seen it. A rare beast indeed.
However, alphabetically, this ABC comes before the Alpine.

Just realised the Zust was not the last on the list, either. So far as I can find out, that was the Zwickau, built in the former Audi works in Saxony between 1935 and 1939.

I'm posting this D type because I recently learned that the legendary Norman Dewis died very recently at the age of 98.

I can't decide if a C-Type or a D-Type gets my vote for "Sexiest Car Ever Built", but Dewis was instrumental in both.

You're one letter short Hugh. The E type is the sexiest car ever built. Old man Ferrari even said so. He couldn't possibly be wrong about beautiful cars could he?

d type.jpgI like the "E" types, but they just lack the voluptuousness of a "D". And by the '60s even Enzo's cars were looking a little too polished for me. Although I had a customer with a 275 GTB/4 that I was in serious lust for

    This 1909 Lancia Beta?
I wonder if it was originally left hand drive?

Found another pic of the same car- it was, and is, right hand drive- someone has flipped the image.

I have thought this since I was ten.

I once thought, okay, felt, that I had enough dough to fork up twenty-five large for a replica kit. I lusted for a while and it eventually passed. No kit car. (If I had some kind of windfall and playing with that level of toy was an actual possibility, I'd have to say the next sexiest car ever built was sort of a kit car originally, so it would be relatively easy and inexpensive to have a brand new, home-made, with factory new engine etc, AC Bristol Cobra.

    Over and over, anon.

If it has a Bristol engine, it isn't a Cobra.
