It is indeed better than the others. As a past owner of a 140 roadster, I won't say it's better than the original though.

You know, you can still pick up a "beater" Model A for just a couple thousand bucks.

Which is why in the UK nowadays nearly half the VSCC trials cars are model As.
About the cheapest vintage car with anything like the right sort of performance, so quite a few have been imported.
A think one at $2,000 would need a heck of a lot of work though- in the UK, one like this would be around 12,000.

    Yet another cyclecar for Robert.
This one has been scanned from a half-tone photo in the latest VSCC Bulletin, and has lost a lot of quality.
The car is unknown- it seems to have a bit of Bedelia in the DNA; they might at least have pumped up the tyres for the photo.
Is that really a wooden brake block acting on a rear tyre?? Plus centre-pivot steering, so I bet the front tyres rub against the wings on full lock.

I bet we haven't had one of these before. Seen the other day when I was given a tour through a very interesting stash of motorbikes.

    It's a Bubu 501

Yes, the door is on the left hand side. It even had optional training wheels......

Looking at those coachbuilt XK's illustrates just how right the original styling was. I always liked how well the XK150 showed the lineage from the XK120 .

1956 Aerodyne Streamliner Coupe. Built on a 1956 Jaguar XK140 chassis.

The builder is former Nissan North America's chief stylist,
John Toom. He built this before he passed away in the early 2000's.

At least that is an interesting body. Awfully Bimmerish grille though.

A Bugatti Hot Rod, built in 1980 by GM's head of design, Ron Holls. Built entirely of genuine Bugatti parts salvaged from a variety of vehicles - a widened T59 frame, a T57 engine with an added blower and drysump, a gearbox from a 73C with synchromesh, left hand drive and Gardiner built piano-spoke wheels

    here's a crazy one

    1950 mg td special

it was uncompetitive in north america (underpowered) so the american owner swapped the mg four banger out for a six out of an xk120. . .

Really? Then you drop a shoe I actually like? I'll keep the four, though, it'll do fine on these low speed twisty roads we got...

There is nothing quite so sweet as the sound of a dual exhaust Jag 6 cylinder winding up & down.

That "Bugatti" is pretty sweet though!

Having had both Jag (3.4 and 3.8) and BMW (3.5 and 3.6) sixes.... I will stick with the BMW S38 engine as the sweetest.

That 2.4 Jag engine wouldn't pull the skin off a rice custard.

Would I be right in believing that it was in the era when lots of parts were shared with Morris?

This is my friends XK 150 Zagato. I mistakenly called it an XK120. It is now in year 3 of the restoration.
