I had huge problems registering my JZR Morgan replica. DMV demanded that I have a Certificate of Origin and I couldn't get one. My wife found the Fla. DMV procedural manual and it stated a CO or an invoice. I was able to get an invoice from JZR and took my lap top and showed them the page from the manual. Took 6 months to do all that but it went through.

More oddball- the 1964 Rootes Group 'Asp' prototype. Hillman Imp engine and suspension, rather like the Clan Crusader. It was decided it was too small for the US market, and was not proceeded with.

Took this one in Tassie in 2010. Fiat Abarth... owned by Marcus Ambrose's step-father

A rather earlier Argyll- no relation to the one above other than geographically. It is probably a first for the bilge; I thought it looked familiar, but at first I thought it was the GKN FFF100.

All quiet, so another Bugatti- I know it's been here before, but the research and workmanship that went into the new bodywork are incredible.

Me too! One of the mags ran a road test back in the day, as it was street legal. Biggest problem was filling her up with taxed parrafin. There used to be a pump in London. Very easy to drive, just a lot of time on the brakes along with the turbine lag.
Then there was the photo of Graham Hill getting in at Le Mans, entitled 'Bum's Rush' as that was about all you could see of him.

While I am here, I would like to thank all who took the time to contribute to this thread. One of the most enjoyable ever. Peter tapped a deep interest with many.

Peter and I exchanged email concerning cars and other mechanical challanges. He was a fan of MG TD's and would be interested in my progress (baby steps)

It's out in the yard where we normally paint tractors. Today there are MG parts hanging from everything. Right next to a 200 ton pile of reclaimed base rock! Note the culverts...

3 coats of 2 part urethane, no clear coat, the bugs will buff right out.

    Old Jaguar BRG
Nah, I can't claim this one.

I replaced some of the structural wood framing, refitted the doors, and hood. Roughed out/faired the body and fenders, then took it all back apart and had our painter finish it. He's good.

Now if I can remember how all these bits go, we'll have a car again.

(I had an old friend (rip) make a comment about boat building once. "Jake, anyone with hands and eyes can do this stuff. You have to cut it, what difference does the angle make?" )

I had an Imp, reworked as a Hillclimb special. Cooper climax engine, dual electric fuel pumps, oil cooler, 4 wheel discs, altered suspension, perspex side windows, roll cage. Quite quick.
I was told it could be registered but never did. Towed it around with a 51 Landy at 50 mph mostly.
Good vehicle that Landy if rather spartan. Did a heck of a lot of miles around northern and western Australia without missing a beat. It was thief proof, if you didn't follow the correct sequence it would not start.

I've posted before about the MG and the T bird.

My apologies to Peter, et al, for, while at the Owl's Head Museum, for not taking a photo of a portion of the Cobb's MG collection. First in line was a J2, which, when a kid, my neighbor drove...

    But, pushing Peter's envelope here:

    DSC_0045.jpg

I'd never seen, let alone heard one in the flesh. Utterly outrageous. In a 'Falcon'! (Please note Ian, NO PUSHRODS!)

Couldn't hardly resist this. Incredible attention to artistic details.

And, perhaps pushing Peter's theme beyond appropriate - (but it will have a fan or two here)

    DSC_0062.jpg

Unfortunately, it needed some auxiliary power, which was lacking. It did make it into the air while being towed by a vehicle. Was found, intact, in, I think, 1974, and donated to the museum.
