B&S has been making v twins for quite some time now. The early ones tended to blow head gaskets.

A mate of mine just posted a photo of a car of his on FB. One that I didn't know he had. I'm in the middle of pleading with him for a drive. Ferrari. Testarossa. Hmmmm. Unfortunately, his nickname for me, based on past shared driving experiences is... Fearless. It isn't helping my cause.

Simpler is better, except when complicated looks really cool.

Somehow, I doubt the conversions will have the same value as the originals.

Incidentally, I looked at a couple of interesting cars at the auctions this week.

    RS6 Audi - twin turbo V10 version, 648hp IIRC and a Q7 V12 diesel. Both went for early $50ks

It is, one of the best. An old friend had a '28 Sunbeam which drove like a small Bedford ... a lovely machine.

Those things hot up pretty well, 50 hp, cheap and lightweight, the little car I saw built with one was a real fun little beast.

A real shame that the lawyers put a stop to us doing that in the US. There are still a couple of spots that run hillclimbs but are highly regulated.

I have seen at least one Leon Bollee and noticed the steering mechanism. It must have been one of the very first cars with rack and pinion steering, although not used in the way that has become conventional.

I like the grease cup on the front wheel, and the two constant loss oilers for the engine.

Those relics like this one are indeed wonderful, but I can imagine a dripping, smokey, and noisy contraption leaving a greasy puddle everywhere it stopped, that might be hard to live with today...
