Anyone have any info on the Citroen? I have a friend that has been a starter on the flats for 20 years but he has never seen it before.

I think that most of this car's sporting history is played out on the rather large bench seats. It turned up at the cafe we went to on the bikes yesterday

He couldn't find room to park at the cafe

I can see a grille and a windscreen, there's a car there as well?

I have been doing car maintenance stuff over the last couple of weekends, layed on the ground a lot , got grease all over me, got told off for going in the house and looking like I might sit down. Been so long I forgot you actually have to adjust drum brakes, no self adjusters. Imagine that!
King pins! they are there. They have grease nipples, ZERKS.

I was having a conversation about this car the other day..20180416_161223.jpg
photo of a photo... This was a dream buy for me , a dead stock 1939 deluxe coupe in about 1994 or so. Very hard to find then and near impossible now.We never got the 40's and 41's here because of the war, the next Ford we saw in any numbers was the 46 on. I like those models now but back in the 70's and 80's we'd see one and call it a House.
Ultimately I satisfied the desire to own one, but sold because I just didn't like driving it, it didn't like being in modern traffic. In fact it was a bit scary in retrospect.
And thats something that has stuck with me. I get talking to people at car shows about their MGA or their MGTC and they tell something along the lines of never doing doing more than 80 kph / 50 mph... something that reminds me that if you want a toy car and want to actually use it , you need to be looking in the late 50's or 60's to get a chassis and brakes that allow you to keep up and stop. Ok, I still want an MGA, bus wheel and all.

I assure you I drove my old TD a lot faster than that! Though my best and most inspired race was with a car load of lads in '53? Custom Line who wanted to do me personal injury. I won, the TD went around corners, the Customline didn't.

I did the same in my 100e Ford. got tailgated into a local park by a 1960 Fairlane that just slapped a stone wall on the bend. He understeered into it chasing moi to make a point. I still remember the chrome strips cartwheeling through the air as seen in my rear view mirror.
But you get my point ..... possibly different where you live on nice roads but for me I have to drive in the city for many miles just to get onto a decent road, and thats starting and stopping , getting monstered by SUV's and trucks. It helps to look a bit unstable I find, they give you some room then.( note to self , must get viking helmet, they're getting acclimatized to the genuine Canadian flappy fur hat ).

I had a Maloo ute try and follow my M5 around a fast corner.

He failed. The M5 was a good 20+ years older than his Dunnydore.

I rode a lot of twisties and some open road yesterday with a mid 50's Vincent 1000. He was looking at my mid '90's 650 single later on and said "that gets along well, doesn't it". I was losing him on every corner.... but then again, his bike is probably worth 100 times what mine is.

I can get away with having an archaic car because we live on the coast. The Pacific Coast Highway winds for a thousand miles north and south of here.
If I went east more than 20 miles from here my "important" cars would be useless!

Some "painters" or body shop guys think that blocking the primer in both directions is a waste of time. But this image shows that a few hours more work might have yielded a good paint job. To me it looks like someone tried to kick in that door...

I think this is the same AC as above.

    S4201165.jpg

I have seen a C type in a very similar green to the XK too,so it might have been a factory colour.
