Cudacatcher is a 1937 John Alden design Sport Fisherman built by Robert Jacob of City Island NY for Rowe B. Metcalf, of Greenwich, Connecticut. Mr. Metcalf at the time was well known as the owner of the racing cutter Sachem.
Cudacatcher is 59 feet overall, 55 feet waterline, by 13 feet 6 inches beam, by 3 feet 9 inches draft.
Cudacatcher was featured in the April 1938 edition of Rudder Magazine.
The main salon bulkheads and doorways feature intricate carvings of various fish species. The present owner has been unable to find any information on the artist who did the carvings. Any information or leads would be appreciated.
