I was leaning toward carving it out...….but gold..ish sign would stand out better on green transom...
However at the end it's just a simple homebuilt boat, without a piece of mahogany, ash, purple heart in it

My vote, go with something simple and classic for the home port to set off the script you are using for the name. Here's a good example of what I mean:

    you're right Chris.....absolutely
I was wondering why there is no state (WA) after the port name
    btw....that's a great looking boat!

…..I have to admit that I was thinking about that sometimes in the future......maybe......but I just don't think this is the kind of boat that anyone would give a second look.

so it's a firm no Peter, but feels good that you are asking about that !
I hope to get a day off to stop by and check out the boats.
Would love to try some sail and oar boats...and fast ones - like yours too. I think the key is to spend at least few days there......one day is just not enough to really absorb everything.

^^^ Hey Wojo, not to put any pressure on but I gotta say that Little Bear is exactly the sort of boat people look at a lot at a classic boat show. Sure, it's all about the acres of varnish up there but the eyes start to glaze over and the brain gets tired after the hundredth immaculate yacht. Which is just exactly when you want to see something a bit more down to earth. A nice painted dory for example, or a pretty-but-unassuming little plywood launch. Just my two cents any way...

Chris, I have to say that you do have a point......I will try to take LittleBear there sometime in the future, but for now I would love to see Petrel at WBF !

    …...
went to Port Townsend for a short road trip. Pretty quiet place, so much slower pace when not during WBF festivities! Found a Japanese noodle place - that alone will be worth coming back to. Marina - full of boats during Festival - was very empty today - looks like lots of open mooring spaces - not sure if everyone left for a sail, or that is just the way it is.

More than few very nice wooden boats...…..one in the picture was for sale.

    Nice.

Is that a plans built boat or one-off design? I no longer get the magazine. They get stolen before even getting to me in the mail.
