    Cool Yesterday - Rising Sun

Rising Sun is designed by the late Jon Bannenberg, and built by Germany's Lürssen.

It was originally purchased by Larry Ellison, CEO of Oracle Corporation, and is currently owned by David Geffen.
David Geffen is an American record executive, film producer, theatrical producer and philanthropist. David Geffen is known for creating Asylum Records in 1970 and Geffen Records in 1980. Geffen Records launched the careers of the Eagles, Aerosmithand Guns N' Roses. In 1990 Geffen Records was sold to MCA Records for USD 550 million. Geffen is also one of the founders of DreamWorks SKG. Geffen is an active philanthropist, supporting medical research, AIDS organizations, the arts and theatre. Forbes estimates the net worth of David Geffen at USD 5.6 billion.
The yacht is the 6th largest in the world with a length of almost 138 meters (453 ft).

It reportedly cost over US$200 million to build.

The yacht is seen here on 16 Dec 2012 in shitten Bay St.Kitts.

I dunno...seems kinda cramped. Admittedly, the basketball court sounds nice, but what if you're hosting a couple of football teams? Where on earth would they play?

Long, lean lines -- kinda reminds me of this pre-war yacht, also built by Lurssen for Otto Hermann Kahn:

Which morphed into this Lurssen product:

The S100 class Schnellboot, probably the best all weather torpedo boat of WW2. With a displacement of over 100 tons, capable of speeds in excess of 42 kts when kicked in the pants by 3 V-20 2500hp Mercedes diesel zeppelin engines -- wow!

It looks way too hot down there. It snowed a couple of inches of wet snow last night and now its drizzling and about 2 degrees celsius and breezy and I'm going out to clean up a blow down on a slippery hillside with a 20 foot drop onto rocks at the bottom. I'm sure glad I don't have to do it in the heat you keep showing us. Thanks for the reminders. No need for sunglasses today either thank goodness.

Correct. On the very old maps/charts there is a spot (a shallow cave strangely enough) in that Bay called the "@rsehole of ****ten Bay".

Would you say that Wally morphed it into this?

    No, I wouldn't.

While I'm not a fan, I would admit that the Wally at least has some kind of style. That thing above is a cruel joke. I sincerely hope it never gets beyond the pixel stage.

If it ever did, I'd pray for an ethereal Flying Dutchman Schnellboot to materialize and put a fish into it.

I agree that it appears to be a cruel joke.

However, strangely enough it is a wallyship.

The 26m Wallyship costs €4.5 million plus optional.

And the first such unit was signed in January, with the delivery scheduled for spring 2011.

I've actually become a fan of Wally's. I'd love one of Andre Hoek's pink Nano's.
