Question The ass and the elephant

It appears that an ass and elephant have become the accepted symbols of the Democratic and Republican parties, respectively, in the USA.

It has been suggested that the Republicans, have officially adopted the elephant as their official symbol, while the Democrats have never officially adopted the donkey as a party symbol, but continue to play the ass.

I am looking for evidence (to the contrary - at least for one party ) in this regard.

Why do you hate America? Day after day you originate threads criticizing Americans. What is up with that?

Google Andrew Jackson, then Thomas Nast. . .

Where does it say in the OP where I 'hate Americans' or America?

PS My name is not 'Hank Williams' or 'Hank Williams Jr'.

Which threads have I originated 'criticizing Americans', or post such topics that others on this very forum would post?
Give say 3 examples in the last 10 days would be fine.
I do not see where in this OP I have 'criticized Americans'.
I may have cast a some ridicule/query on a political party, bur I fail to see where I have criticized Americans in the OP, much less originating threads criticizing Americans day after day.

What is your problem? I don't criticize you. Is it that I post truthful posts and you cannot take the heat?

Do you berate other posters (eg one with initials CC?) when they insult me personally and try and belittle where I live?

Difficult to make an argument this statement:
"It appears that an ass and elephant have become the accepted symbols of the Democratic and Republican parties, respectively, in the USA.

And from Columbo, the great detective:

Excuse me Mr. Obama, I mean President Obama, Sir. Um . . I know you're busy, and important and stuff. I mean, running the country is very important and -- ah -- I hate to bother you, Sir. I will only take a minute. Ok, Sir?

See, I have these missing pieces that are holding me up, and I was wondering, Sir, if you could take time out of your busy schedule and help me out. You know, no big deal, just some loose ends and things.

Hey, you have a nice place here! The wife sees houses like this on TV all the time and says, boy, she wishes she had digs like this, you know? Is that painting real? Really? Wow!
I saw something like that in a museum once.
Oh, sorry Sir. I didn't mean to get off the track.

So if you could just help me out a minute and give me some details, I will get right out of your way. I want to close this case and maybe take the wife to Coney Island or something. Ever been to Coney Island Sir? No? I didn't think so...

Well, listen, anyway, I can't seem to get some information I need to wrap this up. These things seem to either be "Not released" or "Not available." I'm sure it's just an oversight or glitch or something, so if you could you tell me where these things are I have them written down here somewhere -- oh wait. I'll just read it to you.

Could you please help me find these things, Sir?

    1. Occidental College records -- Not released
    2. Columbia College records -- Not released
    3. Columbia Thesis paper -- "Not available"
    4. Harvard College records -- Not released
    5. Selective Service Registration -- Not released
    6. Medical records -- Not released
    7. Illinois State Senate schedule -- Not available
    8. Your Illinois State Senate records -- Not available
    9. Law practice client list -- Not released
    10. Certified Copy of original Birth certificate -- Not released
    11. Embossed, signed paper Certification of Live Birth -- Not released
    12. Record of your baptism -- Not available
    13. Why your wife, Michelle, can no longer practice law as an attorney? (Insurance Fraud?)

    14. Why your wife has 22 assistants, when other First Ladies had only one?

    15. Why were you getting "foreign student aid" as a college student?

    16. Which country's "passport" did you have when you visited Pakistan in 1981?

Oh and one more thing Mr. President, I can't seem to find any articles you published as editor of the Harvard Law Review, or as a Professor at the University of Chicago. Can you explain that to me, Sir?

Oh, but hey -- listen! I know you're busy! If this is too much for you right now -- I mean -- tell you what. I'll come back tomorrow. Give you some time to get these things together, you know? I mean, I know you're busy. I'll just let myself out.. I'll be back tomorrow. And the day after. . ...
What's that Mr. President?Who wants to know these things?

I read it and observed that there were numerous 'accusations couched in questions' about Mr Obama and his wife.

I am sure that many here will be willing to point out which are not correct/accurate/etc hence my post.

I have not done a 'Snopes', Factscheck, Hoaxslayer check on each of the items, which many on this forum often berate me for not doing before I post, so I cannot say one way or the other.

PS My response is based on the experience that anything that could be construed (accurate or inaccurate) as being against Mr Obama or the Democratic party that is posted on this forum, is usually viciously attacked, or more normally, the poster that makes the post is personally attacked (eg see post #2 of this very thread!).

The beratement is entirely justified, since your unwillingness to check on this stuff is blatant evidence of a willingness to accept a lie as the truth.

It's EASY to spot the lies... for example, the lie about michelle obama's staff was debunked thoroughly, the day after it was launched.

You're right... shooting the messenger is wrong.

A willingness to believe lies is even MORE wrong.

The really sad part is that Mr. Woodpile probably believes it to be true.

Here's the very first Republican Elephant. 1874, Thomas Nast, of course. The New York Times as a unicorn wearing (I think) a monocle is amusing.

The Democratic Donkey is a Nast creation too, but older, from 1870:

I have absolutely no problem whatsoever with somebody pointing out that something is inaccurate.

I have an issue with individuals on this forum that personally attack individuals. Eg Check a forumite's (with initials CC) unceasing attack in me personally.

By the same token, where do I state that I love America so much that I would want to immigrate?

The hurdles are quite considerable - and I am not a hispanic illegal.

Why would I want to officially want to join the Republican Party, or any political party fort that matter?

Everywhere (country and the people therein) has its good points and it's bad points.
