need some algebra help

I took college algebra in '86... made a 4.0 and have done nothing since.
Now I need to help my 38 year old son with a qualification exam and I don't remember the terminology or just about anything... he'll come over tomorrow (sez he) and I've got to bone up so I can do him some good... any ideas?

There is a book called Painless Algebra by Lynett Long.
I got it for my grandson it looks very simple but covers the basics.
The web also has tons of stuff, juat search Algebra help.

I"ll give it a try... kain't hurt... like most old guys, the memory is in there but it needs something to jiggle it into working

algebra is just a way of organizing simple math... half the time I went straight to the answer then had to back track to put it in the 'proper' alga-language... it's probably one of the reasons I don't remember how to do it (I can still do bricklayer math though)

The volume of a box can be expressed algebraically. Let l = length, w = width, d = depth, v = volume.
Volume = Length times width times depth, or algebraically v=l*b*d. Or are you stuck on the manipulations like quadratic equations?
