Sara B. originally named Pleiades is a tancook schooner designed by Ray Stevens and built by Guy H. Asbury around Dublin Shore,N.S. The hull was built as a teaching project around 1955 but sat in a shed until finished about 1960.I have an old faded copy of her sail plan that is barely legible. I also have a page of the building plans for a tancook schooner Calypso II,designed and built by Guy Asbury in 58. Aside from Calypso II being 28'8" and Sara B. being 38'6" they are almost identical.
I was wondering if anyone had any knowledge of either the builder or designer? The previous owner had removed the interior but never really finished a new one.I have been trying a few layouts but was wondering what the original looked like. Because it is basically a shallow draft work boat design there is not much volume down below. Wife really wants a boat with more room below, but structually shes in good shape, and built like a tank.Would hate to give her up,... boat that is.If anyone can pass on some useful info,it would be much appreciated.
