in answer to your last question, Nick
Where do you nut-jobs get the idea that just because we object to CC folks practicing their "constitutional right to bear arms" our house that we are "defenseless"?

The doctrine of nonresistance against arbitrary power, and oppression, is absurd, slavish, and destructive of the good and happiness of mankind.
Personal failures are too important to be trusted to others.
Must be yaws, yaw yawing again.
We don't know how lucky we are....

whatever
I never learned from a man who agreed with me.

You've deluded yourself, Phillip Allen.
First, I didn't know the thread was locked, untill I discovered your offering here. I must have inadvertantly clicked the wrong icon, or hit the wrong key. Or somebody else did. I've never locked a post in the past, ever. However, in the earlier thread under discussion, someone else did change the wording of one of my posts. I speak for myself and have no respect for those who need to post using another's name.

I would like to submit that while this issue raises emotions, there are threads addressing far more important issues: voter supression and organized blocking of bills.
Congress begins every day with a prayer. Enough said.

Well the real simple answer to this is to just unlock the thread ......and then phillip can delete this one...problem solved.........
Unless of course you are anti-gun and the thread might make some think you really don't have a gun in the house to defend your family with, then I would suggest to delete the thread off of the internet,
or immediately hoof it down to the local gun shop and take the protection of your family a lot more seriously............
Well, RonW, I have no idea where the tool is for "locking" or "unlocking" threads. As I posted above, it was inadvertant (finger hitting a key when I wasn't looking) or someone else did it.
As this is not the first "gun thread" you've read here, you should be aware that I am definately not "anti-gun". I own several, and fully understand their capabilities, and mine, though I certainly do not fire off a couple of hundred rounds a week as Phillip Allen evidently does.

You needn't delete anything, Phillip. I can axcxept the fact that you seem to like firearms more than I do.

Well, old Nick, are you going to unlock your thread or not?

Exactly, Phillip, and thank you. In the occasional threads here concerning firearms, I generally find your view reasonable, for someone who likes guns a lot and handles them responsibly.
And Horace, I'll agree with John Smith that there are more important issues on which we should concentrate. I believe I saw a "lock thread" button briefly somewhere yesterday, but don't know where to find it now.
Hi Nick.
FYI: Every thread has a grey toolbar with four pull-down menus. The menu choices are: Thread Tools, Search Thread, Rate This Thread, Display.
When you open any thread that you have originated you will find a fifth menu: Administrative. Click on that menu option and you will see four options:
Close Thread, Move Thread, Copy Thread, Delete Thread.
If you have chosen to close your thread, upon subsequently entering the thread you will find that the Close Thread option under Administration has been changed to Open Thread. So you may close, open, and close your thread to your heart's content.
"it takes two to behavior"
Thanks, Tom. Been busy in the boat most of the day.
