Massive thunderstorm here ... went to collect the kids from camp (2 counselling, 1 a camper) and out-ran the very ugly looking clouds all the way home.

great light show though, and the garden needs the rain. Settling in with a beer in hand to watch. If the garden gets a drink, why not me too?

I see that on the radar. We just got missed to the south a few minutes ago, but looks like there's more coming in the next half hour or so. Fine by me, I love a good thunderstorm!

Maybe we could discuss whether a crime committed with a bayonet attached to a riffle would be considered a gun crime or a knife crime?

Are there trout in the riffle? Did the bayonet bounce off a steelhead, or did someone end up with a cutthroat?

The Olympics are on! Lots to do.
Then there's playing with the new MacBook Pro Retina.
On top of that, it's time to really dump Shaw . . . gotta figure out the best bundle on the competition.
The litter box has already been cleaned, so cross that off the list.
There is always the dishwasher to empty, and the new laptop attachments to play with and figure out.

    Lots to do!

Haven't seen any rain here in S. Texas in at least a month.
Practicing some new licks on my Epi I just bought. Just about got this one down pretty good.

No worries, didn't intend to pull your chain so much as take the riff(le) and run with it.

Chain wasn't pulled, I thought the response was clever in fact.
I can appreciate a little good ribbing, even if I was the target.

I just finished painting the Y pipe, the inside water muffler and the elbow for the port side exhaust system. I had a buddy of mine in the auto paint business match up the Chris Craft Blue color in Sikkens two part enamel. Seems to be a really good match.

I am also replacing the mahogany ply panels behind the dinette and the settee so I primed both sides and have put two coats of paint on so far.

I try to do something every night, even if I get off at eight... a coat at a time.

Oh, how about sports? The US didn't get any medals in Rapid Fire Pistol, even though the dreaded semi-automatic handgun is employed. Those guys sure do shoot fast and accurate with their mis-used weapons.

Dont blame me... My non-political threads sink like a stone.

People talk about what they WANT to talk about... And like it or not, many like to talk politics. Phillip prefers to talk guns. SamF prefers to talk about Catholicism.

I will talk about pretty much anything, though.... Try me

Politics? I posted about mushrooms and updated the greenhouse thread.

The problem is the political threads attract the compulsive types, while the human-interest stuff sinks quickly— a phenomenon to which you are a primary contributor. But I'm pretty tired of the Raw Money campaign and gun weirdness.

Yeah .... nothing dried down there for the 6 days I was there. I'm back in an aircon room now and bingo... good drying.

One minor complication... I seem to have developed some lurgy.... the symptoms of which seem to line up with dengue fever, unfortunately aka breakbone fever. I think I'll crack a beer soon and see if alcohol kills viruses, cause I certainly don't want dengue.

breakbone fever is some nasty stuff. See if you can find something better than beer for treatment. I've known people to lose a couple years to dealing with that stuff.

John... its definitely something I'd rather not have. Have the eyes and joint pains developing "nicely" though... and I don't have arthritis. I'm supposed to have a meeting / photo session with King Zero (one of the key players in the Saffron Revolution) in 40 minutes.... ain't happening methinks.

Dengue is perhaps nastier than "normal" malaria in symptoms exhibited. One of ours carked it over the years (Normanton circa 1890) and I believe another in Niugini.

I'll start a left wing rant on the evils of the toilet paper provided by the neo con corporations if you like.
I made a complaint yesterday to my (female) boss and put up an arguement on health grounds.
She said it had been used before and wiped from the AGM agenda as having no substance.
