Ahh, I love this quote... should go down in the Hall of Fame!
Quote of the Day
"When you're rich, you want a Republican in office."
-- Porn star Jenna Jameson, quoted by CBS News, endorsing Mitt Romney for president at a San Francisco strip club.

Not sure what your definition of "bimbo" is, but Jenna Jameson has been a very, very successful entrepreneur who leveraged her assets into a multi-million dollar business which at one point was turning about a 50% profit margin on $30 million per year.
Not bad for an ex-"dancer"....
She's probably not the only person who thinks that Republicans are better for the rich, of course...don't we all?![]()
Sometimes you've gotta leave the kibble out where the slow dogs can get some....

Yeah.... www.politicalwire.com... quite the porn site.
Duh.
I was going to post a pic of ms jameson - but as it turns out, there are none that are not 'restricted'.....
Ah well.... use yer imagination!
There's a lot of things they didn't tell me when I signed on with this outfit....
Another good quote on the issue:
"Romney finally gets a supporter who changes positions as often as he does."
There's nothing more expensive than a "free" boat.

It is a refreshingly honest endorsement.
Think it will be met with equally candid appreciation by the party of God, family values, and babies?
Quantum materiae materietur marmota monax si marmota monax materiam possit materiari?
Is she about to throw her hat into the V.P. race? Past republican presidential candidates have made worse choices...
Jeff C
A successful walking, talking petri dish.....Probably would beat Palin in a game of trivial pursuit.
Is she still with Tito Ortiz? Yessiree, those two are a real brain trust. She quit porn for him.
Hey, Norman, what about that bimbo, Eva Perón?
The doctrine of nonresistance against arbitrary power, and oppression, is absurd, slavish, and destructive of the good and happiness of mankind.
Personal failures are too important to be trusted to others.
I wonder how Tito first became aware of Jenna's existence.![]()

I wonder if we would be having this thread if the "bimbo" were black.
Conferences at the top level are always courteous. Name calling is left to the foreign ministers. (Averell Harriman)

Good one!
IIRC the owner and working girls at the Bunny Ranch in Nevada endorsed Ron Paul during the primary there, FWIW.

Well, Garret, looks like we gotta help Lew out here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Roxy_Reynolds

I'm sorry Hanley, I could think of something to like about her, but I'm not convinced she's the one. Please provide additional candidates for thorough vetting.
Lew, I'm only going to recommend the rich ones for you so you won't think they're after your boat. http://www.chacha.com/topic/jenna-jameson You do realize, of course, how much trouble we are both going to be in when Farfalla gets wind of this.

You know, there are those here who complain about the singular political nature of the Bilge, but in this context, political focus is probably more
to be admired that the lurid focus we've had on porn. So, as a sacrifice, and to re-legitimize this discussion, let me ask:
Is Jenna Jameson also endorsing Romney?
(And...she may be the world's most famous porn star but I can honestly say....I had no idea!)
By the way, in reading her bio, I learned that first she went big, and then she went home! (Regarding her augmentations). You can't say that of everyone!

I can't say for sure, but I think the rich fall victims to stereotypes. They seem to have done quite well under Clinton. In fact they've done quite well for decades, regardless of the party of the president.
Congress begins every day with a prayer. Enough said.
I would be not at all surprised to find that many porn stars come out of conservative backgrounds; it's not terribly surprising to hear one espouse conservative political principles.
Well, we know that conservatives consume more porn than liberals. Porn also tends to display and reflect exceedingly conservative gender roles (as distinct from sexual behaviour), suggesting that conservative gender roles are important to its consumers.
On the labour side, sex trade workers, including those in the porn industry, tend to share certain traits such as low self-esteem, a family history of abuse (not necessarily sexual) and addiction, and under- or working-class origins. In my experience, and I suspect research would bear this out, these things are more likely to be found alongside religion and relatively conservative values than otherwise.
Coming out of such a background, making it to the top of one's profession (however dubious that profession may be), and making a lot of money could well reinforce the conservative myth of the self-made individual as well as the conservative view that one's earnings should not be redistributed for the good of society in the form of taxation. All things considered, I would think that a lot of porn stars are politically conservative, with some exceptions made for their social mores (and once they're no longer active, I'd bet some change their minds about that, as well).
Good call, Lew! I think this is an endorsement! http://www.latimes.com/news/opinion/...,2605130.story

Still think she'd make a good candidate, after all there's no dirt left to dig and I reckon she'd have a great deal of fun with the press. Reading between the lines I see she has a good sense of irony and doesn't take herself too seriously.
These endorsements are a bit like gonorrhea; getting them is the easy part. You just have to hang around with the wrong people! What to do after you have them is the tougher issue.
Hi Lew. Hope you are well.
In any issue where she was under attack she'd just say "So?" It's all out there already. Question is has she any realistic policies to contribute and is she interested. I'd like to see a serious interview, it'd be a breath of fresh air. No platitudes and little spin. But it would be a brave interviewer, most would run a mile!
Mr Jeff! I am well and having some fun, thank you, and wishing you well, too.
Indeed, these endorsements are like Christmas tree lights; much color and sparkle, but actually casting very little illumination. I think this is a fun thread, but clearly, we are playing with window dressing. No serious politician (even Romney) can acknowledge them without compromise in this country. I like your idea. Get a really serious commentator of the first rank and have him conduct an interview. A man like Ted Koppel should do it, but the networks would chose somebody like Barbara Walters and there would literally be pillow talk. As in: "So Jenna, if your duvet could endorse a politician, who would it be?"
