Default Crazy over the top custom Harley Davidsons.

    300 pounds
    150 HP @ 8,000 rpm

Dude built it in his kitchen, in 1994. . .

Simpler is better, except when complicated looks really cool.

I suppose that's one way of getting yourself banned from the kitchen.

You take us for a bunch of ignorant weenies? 150 of what kind of horsepowers? RIGHT NOW there is a California outfit called JIMS that produces a 2+ liter Harley clone WITH an overhad camshaft conversion. They only claim 130+ HP. Harleys, even stockers, make more HP today because fuel injection units do away with that horrid intake tract that has both cylinders sucking at opposite ends of the same pipe.
You gotta' get away from posting malarky cause the natives know you are huckstering a false religion.

Spondon frames are good for an extra 50 Hp, ask anyone.

Perhaps chuck didn't see the heads, or the matching cosworth pistons, or the fact that the motor is way 'over square'. The bike's a proven amatuer built winner. . .

Does this amateur have a name? Something about the setting and the mania for V-twins is stirring memories of a bloke that went on to build his own engine for hill-climbs.

Winner of what? Maybe the illusion of horepower?
On the off chance that it is capable of making 150 HP I can guarantee you it won't do it for long. Maybe 2 or 3 minutes because it's AIR-COOLED! There ain't no HP without heat. If you don't control the excess of heat the motor goes away very quickly and for keeps. In the case of H-D vee-motors the rear cylinder is in the heat shadow of the front cylinder. Not an ideal situation even when the HP is modest.

It'd be problematic making an oversquare motor on a cone shovel as the cases barrel base flanges are pretty small.

I think your funnin' me, mate. For a hill climber it has a rather short wheelbase and a god-aweful high center of gravity.

Nah.....not this time........ Must be a Continental Divide type of thing. Hill climbing in the UK (and Oz) is on sealed road courses. It's a short-track, tarmac event.

Speaking of cold tyres. Looks a bit windy, and that means it's cold.

In any type of racing that involves knee scrubbing our Harleys always suffered from adverse handling. High center of gravity among other problems. Even when they had a HP advantage ( the XR1000 was over 100) they got consistantly burned by 850 Guzzis and other Euro twins in our Battle of the Twins racing series. That's why they ended up with their own class.
If you have a video of Pless's homebrew pile of Harley hardware at full blow on any type of race course now's the time to bing it out.

Did you like any of the videos?

I'm on dial-up connection. For me to download a video takes a lot of time and if I'm already downloading one (as I am right now) I can't download a second.
But if you have a video of that 150 HP Harley doing what no other Harley seems to be able to do I would shut everything else off in a moment to watch.
As it stands it's just calender art for those so inclined.
