Barquentine "California" Info???

Hello members and contributors to the history and travels of the barquentine California. Just reminiscing. I live in Stoney Creek, ON Canada. September 1972 went on honeymoon to Hawaii. My wife booked a sail cruise on the "California" from a tourist magazine in our hotel room. The sailing cruise, food and all the Mai Tais for only $14.50. Amazing trip. She saved the ad with picture of the ship which I'll post later when I figured out how. I'm really challenged with computers. Sadly I have only one additional picture of the stern, similar as shown by the previous member tommysunami. I'll also post it later. I have a copy of "Give me the World". It has a great story of this awesome ship. While in Hawaii we met some marines (officers) from the carrier CVS-14 USS Ticonderoga. They gave us a great tour of their ship and and top it off with an unforgettable meal in the officers mess hall. Their ship sailed a few days later to retrieve the astronauts from Apollo 17. We saw the exercise mock up of the capsule on deck. I also took a picture of my wife sitting on Don Ho's lap in his dressing room. Great memories. John DeJonge. Pictures to follow.
