    Default Concave profiler

Dont know what other people do, but I'm too old to learn some skills, (and too tired), so here's a little jig I made to cut the internal planking profile on a 11ft carvel boat.
The results are outstanding so far though need some more hands-on to get cutting 100%. It beats digging out with gouges etc.
I first assertained that the bilge radius was 12", so the pendulum router was made to that size.
I had a s/h router that I picked up for a few pounds and used free wood from a local yard.
If you all have one of these, sorry, but I was so chuffed with the results I had to get it off my chest.

So the radius is constant? If so, that's a great solution.

Looks like it. And if the sides and swing arms were taller, he could have a wide variety of radii at his disposal, just by changing where the pivot rod was inserted.

Interesting set up. I usually use a template gauge and several wooden scrub planes that have a variety of radiused bottoms and blades. This allows the entire plank to be matched to the running roll of the curve.

Yes its pretty much constant roll, its to replace about 3 x 24" sections to repair a hole. Buying special planes and learning how to use them for a one-off seemed like hard work to me. I'm half deaf so thats not going to be a problem, chips etc make a mess though.
