    This is not news!
You've been talking about it for years!
You seem to lack any enthusiasm for your own good health, while you busy yourself telling other people what to do.

it's much, much easier to talk about it. I have tried a number of times to change my evil ways but it's done no good... think about my trip to Labrador, for instance.
All a high IQ ever did for me was to get me bored quickly and allow me to figure out the easiest way to do things... now age and chronic, mild depression has done the rest. If I were the suicide type, you guys would never have met me even here. I am a trudger. I just keep putting one foot in front of the other and will all the way to the grave.

For whatever reason(s), it doesn't worry me. I can certainly get frightened but it passes very quickly and so does not ‘drive’ me.

For what it’s worth, I rise every day thinking that I will find something to hold my attention… and it does happen sometimes.

I’m thinking about going back to school… I think it’s free for me now. I wonder what I should study?

A slow ten minute walk first thing in the morning before you eat anything, is a good fat burner. Keep your heart rate normal.

Cool, I was half kidding and half not as I've always thought it would be good to work with young folks in some capacity.

And +1 on the morning walks. I do 1 to 1 1/2 miles early each morning and if I miss for some reason, I feel it and the dog gets cranky. So, he's sort of my personal trainer and a constant source of inspiration.

I guarantee you I have a significantly higher IQ than you. Part of what I can see is that YOU THINK you are smart, you have yet to proove that to most on this forum in your near 50.000 posts so that says more than most IQ test. So since you don't like to do any followup or research any of your posts but only spout half truth statements, Whats your baseline for testing? What intelligent quotient testing are we using ? GENERAL FACTOR, Cattell-Horn-Carroll theory, J.P. Guilford's Structure of Intellect (1967) model? What are your numbers that you so cavalierly point to? I work out daily, keep my diet in check and have a fulfilling and complete life outside of this occasionally moribund forum.

If you are as you say and to be honest I care less about it than you think but may I simply say MOVE and you will feel better.

In fact, if you can saw a penciled line, apply glue, drive nails, and bring a modest measure of patience to the task, you can build and launch a smart and able craft in as few as 40 work hours. You need not be driven by lack of tools, materials, skills, or time to abandon in frustration a project you conceived in a spirit of pleasurable anticipation.

Significantly? Define significant...........20 points perhaps? At least 10 points? Inquiring minds wish to know.

You've been hiding this for all these years!!! How about starting an online brick laying tutorial. The only rational posts you've had on here are when you were explaining what "shiners" were.

You could do it through one of the blogging sites.

Either that or he expects his classmates to bring him presents just for showing up. Here's an idea! He could use his free education to take a poli sci course on the evils of socialism.

I could have just chucked it all two and a half years ago when my wife died. Could have said, “Screw it. Everything sucks.” (I guess I did a few times), and given up. Instead, I took sailing lessons, even though I have a history of digestive problems, and figured I'd be hanging over the rail. I did feel queasy once, but I told myself no way in Hell, I'd let that happen now. I toughed it out, and got through it.
I took on a high risk job because I was getting complacent in my old one. It didn't pan out, and I was unemployed for 5-1/2 months, but now I'm starting a new career, and I have the possibility of a six figure income for the first time in my life.
In many ways, you remind me of my MIL. The only thing she wanted out of life was to be perceived as a victim. She had a B.S. In Sociology from the University of Illinois, but never worked a day at a job, never learned to drive, and constantly whined about her lot in life – trapped in a loveless marriage. All of her kids tried to help her out of it, but she was “too weak”. She couldn't even bear that her daughter was getting all the attention by dying of cancer, so she dropped off two days later so she could grab center stage.
It's not your “high IQ” that has you bored, it's your low expectations you set for yourself. Man up and do something worthwhile. I told myself that I didn't spend 56 years on this rock, just to go out with a whimper. I'm going to do a lot of good things with the rest of my life. I suggest you figure out how to do the same.

it's much, much easier to talk about it.

I'm guessing I'm at least as smart as you are, and I'm not bored at all. I find things to do with my brain -- find stuff out, figure stuff out, learn to do stuff I've never done before. You're not bored because you're smart, you're bored because you're not doing anything. Take a half-hour walk every day, learn what your neighborhood is like at 3 mph, find a topic that interests you and learn all you can about it.

Smart people aren't smart because they know things, they're smart because they learn things and figure things out. And that's not boring.

Surprised no one has linked to "I'm not dead yet!"

You can't die until you've posted at least 5,035 more times. You're within reach of being a Bilge legend.

Hey, nice post... thank you very much
The doctrine of nonresistance against arbitrary power, and oppression, is absurd, slavish, and destructive of the good and happiness of mankind.
Personal failures are too important to be trusted to others.
