    Thanks Spinner. Great photo... I can't match that one yet... but I've seen some fabulous karst formations... and climbed one of them yesterday (half steps, half roped)

    I appear to have landed in a town of decrepit voyeurs for my birthday... but I've taken refuge in a sports bar... which is a very much more gentlemanly establishment that some of the other bars to which I think purri refers.

    I'm toying with the idea of going fishing tomorrow. wooden boat, of course...

    Well, I knocked over ten lobsters for dinner, with delightful company, got back to the sports bar, rang the bell (and shouted the bar)... and got a lovely backrub from the resident ladyboy as a thank you. He pinched one of the roses from the bar for me... but put it back when I pointed out that I'd bought them for the bar staff yesterday. I should mention, I guess, that that is the extent of my involvement with the ladyboy.... I'm talking wooden boats with a guy who does fishing tours... he's half Swedish, half Thai... interesting perspective on the place. I may take a boat out tomorrow.... although he's suggesting the day after.

    Just a pity really that I've got to head back to my room soon and work on a client report. Such is life.

    Yep good... but the second in three years away from home - I had a ticket home for the 10th, but I let it lapse - I'll try and get to the end of this trip before the monsoon gets too nasty if I can. I rode through some deep floodwater last week... but its not too bad further north.
