Default Mortite - Any marine related uses for this?

While puttering around in the garage, I found a bag of the gray putty weatherstripping cord that was about 20 years old. The stuff was still soft, resiliant, and sticky. Anybody ever use this for anything on a boat? It seems like it would be good for at least temporary or emergency use.

I used a lot of it when I bought my first house back in 1960. Lots of drafty old windows. I don't know why it would not work in a pinch if you had a minor leak... better for windows though

Oldad leak? draft? not much difference

I've used it for vacuum bagging.

I used it to seal my centerboard cap. You can always remove it and it doesn.t leak when I row hard anymore.
    3M calls it strip caulk.
