It's a handcarved font. Not necessarily anything to do with 'puterized typography in any way shape or form.

Has a decided Celtic bent to it, though. If you were looking for it, from a 'puter perspective...It's an all-caps, serif, display font with a high em-height (the distance from the baseline to the top of the lower-case 'M' (e.g., where the horizontal crossbar on the 'E and 'A' are.)

It's not a font. My graphic designer daughter sent me this last week: http://www.aiga.org/theyre-not-fonts/ I started calling them "type-fonts" just to drive her crazy. Rick

I have it or something very close to it in a deco collection, but I don't have the right machine booted up 'cause I'm about to fly to Ottawa. I'll try to remember to check when I get there.

Had a quick look through the home library and the one I was thinking of is Murillo; this is close, but it's lighter and the E is different. I'd be tempted to have a look at some Dover Press books - this face is a distinctive blend of Celtic, Art Deco, and (I think) uncial. Someone with more knowledge of these things may correct me at their leisure...

The 'E' is very Bayeaux Tapestry but the 'A' and 'N', though familiar seems from another source.

Could just be a design, with none of the other letters and punctuation. Pretty though
