Got a chance to see these enormous things up close from the water. You have no idea how big they are until you're right next to them in an open boat, looking up.

Wow!
It must take quite a bit of coordination to handle those 'Sunday ensigns' (that's the RCN designation), since they appear to be larger than many of their sails.

They're like spinnakers off the stern, and the wind blows them right into the rigging.
