We seem to have lost a few posts....????

Kinda, apart from some creepy distorted perspectives and a whole lot of anger, I didn't notice anything that'd warrant a button being pushed, unless the posts were self deleted or something worse was said on another thread. I saw some nasty words on the Nuns on a Bus thread, but if claims can be believed there's probably reason, if not justification, behind some of the anger, this is just not the place to vent it.

Not sure if I caught all the posts that have gone but an observation or question if I may. Why is it some members have difficulty debating or arguing a point without resorting to insults. The well crafted quip is always appreciated however many posts are plain objectionable and for me display a surprising inability to appreciate anothers point of view. I have worked all my life in high value retail and the most important lesson learnt is even when one is right one is most certainly wrong........oh hang on maybe I'm confusing marriage with work.![]()
I can answer that a bit...
I learned what passes for my personal taste in rifles and such through the 1960's (guns are just an example)
there is another age group now entering the market (you will percieve I am speaking of marketing now)
the kids who watched 'Transformers' on Saturday morning cartoons are now all in their 30's...
with that in mind, look at the paramilitary stuff for sale in a successful shop and squint your eyes a bit... what do you see?Certainly not what I saw when I was 30
marketing makes a grumpy old man outa me cause what sells now does not appeal to my early learned 'taste'

Hmmm.......not sure if I follow you Phillip esp as I'm not a gun type but if you are saying the X and Y gen traits are rubbing off on boomers that is scary. I know to question something including authority is seen as a good thing these days but surely a rude and obnoxious attitude should continue to be rejected.

various little sayings come to mind when I see marketing ploys... for instance... "getting more money doesn't give one better taste, it gives one the ability to display his poor taste more prominently"
