Thread: Brockway Type Skiff

    Default Brockway Type Skiff

I have owned many fiberglass boats from 16'-40' over the last 40 years and now looking for my first wooden vessel. I'd like to find a nice little skiff to take the kids fluke/striper fishing and do some personal photography on Barnegat Bay, NJ. The Brockway Skiff looks like a suitable design but it's not indigenous to my area. I'm looking for a reputable builder to make me one in either wood, sheeting and/or any combination of the two. Any recommendations, suggestions or personal experiences would be appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Ed

I have two friends who have built them. One is working on a larger version.

    Here's Greg's build thread:

And here's some fotos of Dan's:

I've been aboard them, and they are simple, capable boats.

    Where are you located?

The Long Point Skiff designed by Tom Hill would be an excellent choice.

It isn't that far from Barnegat to Wellfleet Ct. Call Walt Baron, tell him your thoughts, and he will put together the ideal boat for you.
