Default long term parking in Boston?

Where can I park a car (cah) for a month while I dally in Douarnenez? I'm 5 hours away in the wilds of Maine, and public transportation is a dight complicated.

There are garages with monthly rates but do you really want to bother with a car in one of the most walkable cities that if you're smart about where to go has good enough transport? Why not stash the car in Portland and take the bus?

You don't. You catch a ride with your loving wife, or take a train/bus. Figure $10 a day long term parking..... Figure 30 days...... Figure what a ticket from Portland or Augusta to Boston is.....
Or you can take a room at one of the airport motels and ask if you can leave your car there for a month..... (Usually that's a "yes")..... So you pay $150 for a room, and you have parking.... But catching a ride is the best option...... That way you also don't have to drive home.... The person who gave you a ride there, is duty bound to give you a ride back, as well.....

Walking around Boston while you're trying to catch a flight to Paris might not be a very good idea.....

Sorry for not thinking, but the answer is still right. Compare parking hassel and cost in Portland coupled with a bus ticket to Logan to parking in any of the Logan overpriced lots or the satalite lots over in Chelsea or Revere. Even pilots take the bus rather than make the drive.

I use C&J trailways in Portsmouth. It's $40 return and free parking, they even keep a jump start kit in the office. They run from about 4 AM to about 1:15 AM www.ridecj.com

Other than having someone drop you off, we typically do a one-way rental car to the airport, and the same for the way home. It is, believe it or not, relatively inexpensive compared to some other ways.
There's nothing more expensive than a "free" boat.

The elegant middle-aged lady approached the bank manager and said, "I need a short term loan of $5,000., and the only problem is that I need it in about 15 minutes. My Lexus is parked just outside, and you may keep it for collateral until I return from Paris. I will re-pay the loan, plus reasonable interest, of course, and retreive my automobile in about two weeks."

Of course the manager approved the transaction, and instructed his teller trainee to drive the Lexus to the underground garage, and bring back the keys.

Two weeks later, the lady returned, paid back the $5,000. plus $9.61 in interest. The bank manager had to ask, "Why would a lady like you, with your obvious resources, need to borrow $5,000. for two weeks?"

"Where else in Boston can you park for two weeks for less than ten dollars?", she replied......

Parking for a month in Boston is so expensive it might even be cheaper to fly down from Portland or Bangor. Driving a rental from NH or ME to Boston makes sense, or take the train down from Portland and a taxi to Logan from North Station. One of the problems with parking is after you park you are either paying $$ per day, or you are not at the airport and taking a taxi anyway.

There are also buses that go direct to the airport, but I am not sure if they run from Portland.

Somebody on this forum must have some space in a driveway somewhere in metro Boston, but I'd take the bus to Logan every time.

My suggestion is park your car for free at the Park & Ride in Nashua, NH and take the Boston Express straight to Logan.

You could just park here and take the bus. Oh, and can my kids borrow your car for the month?

Yep. My wife actually took that bus today with the kids to go to a museum.

They have a bus running from Manchester (but not sure about parking there!) and down 93 for stops in Londonderry etc.

    Wilds of Maine??? Really?! Rockville?

I've parked at the long term lots like Park 'n Fly. Then I turned to what Gareth suggests. It's far and away the best option, unless you have a friend's driveway near a subway station to 'crash' in.
