Default Monterey Sloat Landing, July 7th

    Hi All
We have been invited back to supply boat and crew for the Sloat Landing
Ceremony to be held in Monterey on July 7th. We need seven
rowers, a Bowman and Marines. Uniform shirts and hats will be supplied to the
Sailors, who will need to supply their own black or brown shoes with dark blue
pants. Most importantly, anyone wanting to crew the Boat will have to attend
mandatory practices to be held on saturday june 23rd and saturday june 30th. If
you miss or cannot come to the practices, you will not be allowed on the boat.
We had some near misses last year, so the practices are very important. The
ceremony is between 10am and 12 on the 7th with a reception following, weather
permitting we may go out on the bay and sail a bit after. These slots will go
fast so email asap. For those of you with small boats, it may be fun to come sailing
with us after the event, we would love to see you there.

I had a great time rowing the Russian longboat at Jenner a few months ago -- strongly recommend it to anyone interested in military reenactment and traditional wooden boats.
