Finishing up a refit of my 34' Atkin ketch and would like to replace my jib sheet winches. Any thoughts on a quality bronze self-tailing winch brand? Trying to minimize/eliminate stainless hardware in favor of bronze. Many thanks.

I am pleased with these Murray winches on my 34' ketch. The "self tailing" is limited to adding wraps, but I have never carried a genoa. 3 wraps is a few feet, plenty for a yankee jib.
You can get Bronze ST winches (left unchromed) from Harken.

You can check out LVJ winches.( Made in Holland I think ) I purchased some of these from Taylor and Snediker who is US dist. and are located in Pawcatuck CT . They are are first class....used them on my Cape George 36 which was based on the Atkin Tally Ho for the staysail and jib sheets.

How about bronze winch handles that match? Got any good leads to find replacements when I throw them overboard once a year... Nice to get a current maker of such things.

Thank you for your input. The LVJs don't come cheap but you forget the price after awhile but always enjoy the quality.
Most Lewmar winches (Ocean Series) are available in bronze too. If you want to spend a fortune, try Meissner......
