Amtrak dude! It stops right in downtown Mystic about a half mile from the Seaport. I rode it from Savannah to the show a few years ago for a little over a hundred bucks.

Ask Noey.......... I'm just the piano player.....
    Which reminds me......
The hurricane thing that came through last summer blew the Wooden Boat birgee off the telephone pole at the end of the driveway, and the AT&T guys stole the Grenada flag that was there last week.... So I'll probably ask Noey to stand you up out by the road, so people know where to turn.....

I'm more than a little afraid to ask... with what will you have me pointing the way? Never mind, I don't really want to know!

That was Shane.... I just got blamed, because I was there when the pictures were taken... And by the time the film came back from the lab, Shane was back in Australia tying himself to steering wheels and fences and stuff...

It will depend on my schedule, but I will do my best to be there.

Is there an address & time posted somewhere?

Carter has been on me about coming to this party since we worked together a couple of years ago. Now that I've got my own wooden boat, I'm going to try and make it a stop on a steam to Cape Cod for the week. We'll be coming up from Norwalk in the afternoon and would love some advice on where to drop the hook for the night and perhaps some ground transportation options.

Assuming we can make it back to the boat that night, we'll just sleep on board.

Soundbounder - if you're there it will be a pleasure to finally meet you.

The closer it gets, the more I feel deprived (depraved?) for not coming. There's always next year, though I've been saying that for three years now.

Go to kayak.com right now and book your flight. If you want we can pick you up at Detroit Wayne Airport or TF Green in Rhode Island or anywhere in between. Once you're in Mystic you won't even need a rental car. Y'all can sleep in lefty's shop and aboard the fishing schooner at Mystic for $15.00 a night.

    Bummer.

How about dinner on Tuesday? We're laying over in Seattle that night, for a Wednesday departure to the EBS.

We can't make it to the WBS or EBS. Going to Nova Scotia to get our new/old boat. Fingers crossed for good weather all along the coast!

Carter is suggesting that you get Margo, or someone more computerly oriented to do the skype thing..... Shane set hers up, and we can't figure out how the hell the thing works.... Everything looks upside down....

Maybe you could get Carter to get your IT guy to figure out your wi-fi password this year. Then we could post live updates from our fancy electronical doodads during the party.

Lefty, we're gonna need a safe launching area, and someone sober to launch these 1.75" artllery shells I'm bringing. Perhaps a small plywood bulwark to protect the crowd from misfires would be a good idea too. . .

Yet another reversal of plans (which surprises exactly nobody!)...
Debby and I have re-arranged other expectations and we'll be up Friday afternoon for the festivities. We'll bring some "chipotle ketchup", some "universal red sauce", and maybe some "mustard/beer butter". Don't need a place to camp out - we've got that covered....

    Got the card back. Thanks.

Well... Becca got my card, while I parked illegally on the curb. Cruise ships tourist have little sense of humor for big old loud trucks parked on their sidewalk.

So while going home Becca tells me "there was nobody at the desk, but I saw your credit card, grabbed it, and left." Debating on calling the girl back, or just not worrying about it.

"Stocky" - that's the word you want - "stocky".... not "portly"...
And, from my perspective, ain't none of you "old"... that's reserved for us geezers...
