I-90 from Albany,NY to Springfield, Ma. (Holyoke actually, I think...) is a toll road. Carter used to do that route 2 times a week when we were first married, and it's about $8 (USD)... and 3 hours if you keep your speed w/in 10 MPH of the posted limit..... (No one drives the limit unless there's a cop in the rear view mirror)

Route 90 (The Mass Turnpike) is toll-free west of Chicopee. You'll drive toll free in MA.

I'm planning on it. Will bring food. Not willing to plan what food this far in advance.

Ian, I can pick you up on the way down there if you want, and bring you back the next morning, or if you can put me up in the boat, bring you back Friday nite.

Sounds good to me. Can I just get a roll of quarters and pay with those?

I've got everything ready to go, except the time. Damn. I would love to be there. Please have way too much fun, take lots of pictures, and pretend I'm sitting in on the jam session.

WTH is a "shin plaster", and can you actually pay tolls with those weird small-denomination bills you guys insist on clinging to...?

Mom always told me it's not nice to make fun of old people, or their money, so I'm not going to.

(Seriously, those are kind of cool. I had no idea...)

We will most definitely be at the show... same booth (23) in tent "A". I simply cannot drive that distance at night and after partaking of the "fun and frolic" at "The Boss' EBS", and I am the world's WORST passenger. Believe me, those who have insisted on chauffeuring me have regretted same. The whimpers and prayers are most distracting to the driver, but I abcess.

Thursday nite, around six-ish, we plan on heading to Abbotts (and maybe Friday, too, although most of youse will be "tripping the light phandangeaux" widda RedHead and Lefty (Has he REALLY gotten an opaque shower curtain??? Quell boring!) so we'll be tehre in spirit, as I said. If we wwere ASCTUALLY there, at least I'D be "in spirits", but that's .... nevvamind.

This week I'll be down at St. Michael's, MD at the ACBS at the Chesapeake Museum... While I love BOTH places, the Maryland show and weekend are like visiting Queen Victoria at Balmoral, while Mystic is more like Le Moulin Rouge et Mr. Lautrec.

Ah, well... diffident strokes for discerning folks, and all that.

That's a shame, Vince..... You're certainly welcome to crash here, and get up early to hit your booth before the crowd even stirs...... I do believe that you could lay dibs on the futon sofa this year.... It's previous dibster had to back out at the last minute......

This is nearly the last time I'll be on the air here for a while since I hope to leave Chatham in the next couple days and start wending a leisurely way to Mystic. Should get there a week from Thursday or Friday. I would love it if there's someone driving between the EBS and Mystic that can give me a ride. Hoping . . .

I think Emily offered..... But I'm sure someone will give you a lift regardless..... Scot, or Carl perhaps....

I'm looking forward to at last joining the premier EBS. On the A-List at last.

    See ya there.

I'm coming up from Louisiana for the show, anyway a southern boy can get an invite to the party?
I'll be in Mystic with a rental car, so I can provide transportation to anyone who needs it.

    Thanks,

I bet that a 6 pack of Abita Turbo Dog would get you through the gate.....

Sounds good to me. Count me in.

I'll be happy to supply beer, however the airline may not let me bring the Turbo Dog on board. I'll find an equal or better substitute up there.

    Thanks,

That's OK Pete...... Noey made an almost life sized cardboard cut-out of you so people can pose with it..... I say "almost", because I only had an 8' tall piece of cardboard, and we didn't want to have to have a splice right at your neck, or knees.......

We'd like a rough guestimate of numbers of potential attendees for this years EBS. Friday, June 29 is the official date.
If you show up early, you will be put to work!
If you show up late, or stay late, you will be put to work!
There is still tent space, and as of now a certain amount of floor/cot space in the barn (Air conditioned barn, in case it gets warm this year).
    Currently we have:
Ledgers: (2) Stuffed clams and lemon bars.
Plessners: (2) Beer and chocolate cake.
    Bauers: (2) Pot stickers.
Long Island Boy: (1-2?) Bagels and Bialys.
    Canoez: (1-2?) Beer, and bacon.
    McMike: (1-2?) Ice cream sandwiches.
    Margo: (1-2?) Shrimp.
Doug and Carter: (2) Pasta salad, Potato salad, ribs/pulled pork/ (or whatever large slab of meat is on sale).
    See?
