    1927 Chris-Craft Cadet 22' on Annapolis Craig's list -

Very original, multiple show winner, well preserved example of the "Golden Age" of boating. The triple cockpit was the pinnacle of luxury and speed back in the day and still garners A LOT of attention wherever she goes, this all mahogany beauty is the talk of the lake or river. Powered by a completely restored Chrysler EM Imperial flathead six she will cruise at a comfortable 20mph with a top speed of 30mph. Originally a Michigan boat she is exceptionally well preserved and has been used every season for the past 11 years without incident. "Pearl" comes with a galvanized tandem axle trailer, mooring cover, full waterline travel cover and a flannel inner liner. All historical documentation conveys as well. Increasing business and family requirements force the sale, just not enough time to enjoy her as we used to have so it's time for her next caretaker.

We had a 1928 cadet when I was growing up, they are wonderful boats, many fond memories of Boston harbor and lake Winnipesaukee. Also a lot of weekends spent in George Johnson backyard while dad repaired the 1941 flathead six so we could go for a ride. George was one of the great collecters and dealers in antique runabouts, his back yard was treasure trove of runabouts in the 1970s and 80s.

Looks like my dad's old boat, although I think that was an 18 footer with a single forward cockpit.

I took a ride in a 22' Cadet a few years ago. What a treat! So very different from riding in any modern powerboat. Solid, smooth ride.

That Alden is a gem also. First time that I've seen sail cover material used to cover the entire masts and bowsprit when at anchor. Sure protects the varnish!
I was born on a wooden boat that I built myself.
