THis came in on my feeds and I felt compelled to respond tho who did not make it past laughter.
So here it is and my response to it and the comments.
It looks like the Tea Party posters I saw here in Manchester and Concord NH. THis is something we all should be scared by. It is a sad demonstration proving that a large percentage of the population are functionally illiterate. If they can not watch a video about it they can not know about it.
The problem starts when many of them flock to listening and watching shows and news channels with a goal of controlling the zeitgeist of their viewers and listeners. Shows similar to Rush and some of the doyens at FOX and other stations, and the totally unsubstantiated drivel that comes out of their presentations is often blindly accepted as truth by the aforesaid functional illiterates.
One of the games they play, FOX and others, is to have one of the commentators say something as outrageous as Glen Beck's foaming at the mouth drivel. THen the mid afternoon "news" show at a time of day with the lowest audience covers people are saying and so on. Then the famous prime time shows of the Doyens' bring it up as a topic "today in the news" and they repeat the "Beckish" drivel as a truth in the news.
Through these mechanisms and others of similar prevarication the illiterate are totally controlled in what the do, say , accept as absolute truth and then vote for.
Before some of you from the far right go bat$$it on me, remember I have been a registered member of the republican party since since 1969. I was a very active (local level) party member until I was disabled and had the time to read Bob Woodward's trilogy about the Bush presidency and other good factually researched books on current politics.
I was an active GOP member for 36 years. I have now been watching from the sidelines and doing a lot of independent research. I have the time for this that few of us get a chance at.
So With 42 years of GOP faith in this country and its working people I have had to in the last 6 years question every detail the GOP elected members an candidates spout or show.
When I see signs like this, which even the "Free Staters" (here in their chosen home state--I was here for same reasons 20 plus years ahead of them) would not allow as being embarrassing at any of their rallies or protests or other meetings.

I am hoping that we can have an open discussion of the issue. I have started with where I stand and I have less use for the religious fanatics than Barry Goldwater did. Other than that I would consider myself as fiscally conservative and socially progressive. I am for Unions for exactly the same reasons Ike and Ronald Reagan were.![]()
