thank you everyone for your kind thoughts!
ive been replying to another birthday thread for me down in the bilge. dont know why there are two, but never mind.
my 50th was rather lacklustre. i am one of those people that absolutely loves to celebrate birthdays (mine or anyone else). at home as kids we cherished birthdays and christmas. all other special days like mothers day etc were of no consequence. so i didnt get the chance to have a 'party'. but its ok i will make up for it some other day.
anyhow other events around me have taken precedence so i am rather busy with all that. mum is in hospital and im madly studying for a commercial marine ticket. and keeping my fingers crossed for a real beaut job i have applied for. the wait is killing me.
my little yacht sits patiently in the shed for us. and bosun, ever faithful little mate that he is, follows me around wherever i go. right now he is curled up asleep at my feet. he has the characteristics of a dog in that sense. probably the result of me spending so much time with him when he was a kitten and taking him everywhere i went.
so i think, all up life is ok. too often these days, people expect life to be one upper after another. so with that in mind, i am happy to be 'that much older' but more importantly, 'that much more content'.
oh, i did spoil myself on my birthday...i bought a packet of coloured popcorn and a box of orange thins...made myself mighty sick scoffing down both!
We wish you one Hau'oli lā hānau sistah! That is Happy Birthday in Hawaiian.
Plenty Aloha too!
