    Default Interesting cooking pot

Last month I was on a project in Texas and I decided to stay in a hotel with a little kitchen.
This way I could cook instead of going out all the time.

Well they had this little cooking pot and it was great.

    It has
    1. A lid with a 2 strainers
    2. The lid fits tight so it is almost like a pressure cooker.
    3. It's handle does not stick out so it is very stable.
    4. Measure marks on the inside so making things like rice is easy.

This summer I will be getting one for the boat

I did get this pot last week.
I as hoping Santa would get it for me but I guess I was not a good boy last year.

So far I have only cooked twice using it.

    Perfect Rice
    Worked great for making rice.
    Get the water boiling
Add rice and turn off the heat
Put the lid on to hold in the heat.
The rice will cook with no addition heat and if you forget it will not over cook.

Good Omelette but hard to clean up.
Some have seen the idea of cooking an omelette in a plastic bag in boiling water.
I do not like the idea of a plastic bag so I tried the same thing with a metal camping cup (the big kind)
Get the water in the pot boiling
Put the Omelette in the camping cup.
Put the camping cup into the boiling water.
It floated in the boiling water so the cup is not touching the bottom of the pot.
Put the top on the pot and reduce the heat but do not turn it off.
After 6 Mins the Omelette was cooked and it was great.
The only problem was I did not put oil or butter in the camping cup so it was hard to clean out the egg.
I will try again tomorrow with butter.

This camping cup in the boiling water should work well for soups, stews etc and I will have water for tea.

    Tried the Omelette again.
This time I coated the camping cup with butter and it worked much better.

Hey thanks, I read the reviews and it will be perfect for my boat.
