    Default Boat pictures from 1860's Switzerland

    Here's a small gallery of photos from 1860's Lausanne, Switzerland, a port town on Lac Leman (Lake Geneva for the non-local perplexed).

    Not a lot of boat pictures (three), but they are interesting.

    A while back I posted this video about the lateen boats on Lac Leman, you can see one with cargo in the above photographs.

    Thank you for this and your earlier posting. I spent a good chunk of my youth in Geneva and visited Lausanne, Nyon, Vevey and Montreux. The traditional sailing craft were scarce by then but the stones they brought were a fixture of the waterfront.
